Syncronising off-line content with my Samba Server in WinXP
Hello,
I get an error when I want to syncronise my 'changed off-line files' with
the files of my Samba Server. The off-line files are located on my laptop
with windows XP running on it.
I can syncronise and acces my files manually (by drag-and-drop or
copy-paste) without a problem. There is no problem with the internet
connection.

Automatic password syncronisation.
I have set up Samba on a Debian Lenny server. I have set up the users
by using 'adduser' and then using 'smbpassword -a username' to add the
users to the Samba users database.
The users have the same username on both their Windows Client and the
Samba server.

Call Recording Questions
Hi,
1) I want to create add *1 call recording and wanted to know whether the file is created during recording or only after? I want to syncronise the recorded files with my web server (on a different machine (Windows)) so I need a way of telling when the recorded call has ended before copying it over.
2) I tried setting up *1 in features.conf but when I press *1, all that happens is that the caller hears the tones but no recording star...

Wine and SonicStage
Hi,
I've want to syncronise between Solaris and my MiniDisc, the application
database relating to wether SonicStage is inaccurate at best (unreliable
because some replies says it works, whilst others say no).
Anyone got any experience syncronising a Sony MZ-RH1, SonicStage 4.3 and
wine? (unless there is a native solution)

Samba as a time server
Greetings,
is there any way to force Samba to return the non-daylight savings time when
Win/OS2 clients attempt to syncronise their clocks with it? The only way I
can tell is to force the entire system to ignore DST using /etc/localtime
regards,

Xen guests clock is exactly 2 hours before dom0 time
Hi list,
one and hopefully last strange thing I figured out ist the systime of
my guests.
Dom0 uses ntp for time syncronisation. I set the time on my guests
manually but after reboot any machine (Windows server, XP, Freebsd,
even PV Machines like ubuntu) all run local time - 2 hours.
/proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock is set to 0 so actually the time
should be set by dom0...(?)

ssh - how to send password ?
Hi,
I'm trying to learn rsync and to aid this I'm trying some 'simple'
syncronising over the net using SSH. What I can't find clearly explained
in the docs is where to put the remote user password in the command line
argument.
For example I want to sync the two 'documents' directories - one on my
local Linux box and another on a server in my office. The command

streaming so i turned my interest towards icecast, whitch seems an
fantastic and evolved media streaming server.
I am very interested in Midi, especialy the possibility to *sync Audio with
Midi*.
So my question , would it be possible to stream a Vocal track for example,
via icecast and syncronise a reciever via Midi clock ?
regards

Patch to revive tmpfiles
...cesses race:
I usually keep our servers synced with the following script, run by cron.
#!/bin/sh
lockfile -r 2 -l 1000 /tmp/synchome.lock || exit 1
rsync -e ssh -avHP --delete zorro01:/home/\* /home >/dev/null
rm -f /tmp/synchome.lock
--
Sometimes my users (including myself) are in a hurry and syncronise files and directories in their homes themselves. This bypasses the lock above and two or more rsync processes are in a race.
What happens is that the competing rsync processes delete each others temporary files a lot of network traffic is wasted since rsyncing fails when the temp file is deleted....

Hangs on multiple small files
I am running rsync on win9x (PIII 900, 128MB RAM) between a mapped
network drive and a local drive.
For small folders on this machine rsync works great, but the folder I
am syncronising with has 13GB of data and > 1,000,000 files. Out of
about 20 attempts rsync has only succeded once, all other times it
just seems to hang.
Not much info but any ideas?
Thanks

Config problems (?)
Dear Address,
we have some problem with our Samba (v2.0.7). We use it for a short time
only, so we don't have enough experience and knowledge about it. The
operating system on HP computer, on which is installed the Samba, is
HP-UX 10.20. The operating system on PC, which connect to the Samba, is
NT 4.0 sp. 6.
The problem is the following: we have a special card, which can

PPPD & Winbind authentication
Hi All,
I've got Andrew's winbind auth patch working in pppd on our pptp server,
which at means no-more perl scripts to syncronise LM/NT hashes from
openldap to the pptp server :-)
I am however finding that usernames 4 characers long are having their
username truncated to 3, when passed to winbind, and are subsequently
failing.
Has anyone else noticed this yet, or is it just me? :-)

Live migration finish threshold
Hello everyone,
Can somebody point where I can find the code where libvirt makes the
decision to complete a live migration?
I mean, at some point syncronising the VM state, it has to decide that
the delta left to be migrate is low enough to achieve downtime 0, so
libvirt finishes the migration. This "low enough" must be defined
somewhere in the code, but I am unable to find it.

unix password sync = yes
passwd program = /usr/local/sbin/passwd.pl %u
