Rsync hangs with protocol incompatibility issues
hi guys Environment 2 servers (SunOS 5.8) rsync 2.5.6 Problem For a disaster recovery solution, we are running trying to synchornize interwoven backup stores between these 2 environments (server A and server B) The rsync operation is initiated over the network using 'rsh'. ...use-cases really :- 1. take an image of my /home/shirish the first time (without the .something files) all the remaining files and just do one way synchronization (whatever is on the hdd gets reflected on the external storage) 2. A folder on another machine which has one directory (again one way synchornization) . In reality I'm gonna go with Grsync as the solution at the end (which is the UI slapped on top of rsync) but before I trust Grsync I need to how this works. I also read quite a bit of documentation on the net where they talk about using rsync & cron to do the job but still nobody doe...

More AD DC Questions - GPO Issues

Many errors after adding SAMBA 4.1 as 2nd AD in Win 2008 domain
Not even sure where to begin. I've attempted to setup a Ubuntu 14.04 box as a 2nd AD controler in a Windows 2008 domain. The main domain controller is an actual windows machine. Unfortunaly it is an older domain and is a ".local" which I know gives y'all heartburn. After installign samba, I did not provsion it but ran this: "sudo samba-tool domain join MYDOMAIN.LOCAL DC -U
