azure AD Connect | passwords not syncing
Hi,
We setup the microsoft azure AD Connect on a windows 2012 server, to
start using (testing) office 365 in the future. We're running a samba
4.4.4 AD.
This all worked, in the portal.office.com admin section we can see that:
> Company Name COMPANY
> Domains verified 2
> Domains not verified 1
> Directory sync enabled true
> Last directory sync last synced 3

[LLVMdev] "fork" and "sync" for LLVM thread support - any comments?
Dear all,
Recently I've wanted to add support for threads to LLVM (motivated by
OpenMP, more or less), but before jumping in and implementing anything,
I thought it might be a good idea to describe what I have in mind and
ask for comments. Hence this email - if anyone has any comments, I'd be
very glad to hear them.
WHAT I'M PROPOSING:
The addition of two instructions - fork

azure AD Connect | passwords not syncing
That is a major bummer. :-(
Would it work any better, if I promoted our windows 2012 server to a
domain controller?
Or would that have all kinds of other side-effects..? (we're currently
running three dc's, all samba)
One side-effect I can think of: GPO's, in a mixed samba/windows DC...?
Any ideas what the requirements on the samba side would be, for samba to
be able to

dsync - one or two ways?
dsync in Dovecot v2.0 tree is a new utility for syncing a mailbox in two
locations. Some things it can be used for:
- Initially transfer a mailbox to another server via SSH
- A faster sync done to an existing mailbox, sending only changes
- A superfast sync based on modification sequences.
- Source and destination mailboxes can use different formats
(convert-tool will be history)
dsync can

azure ad connect timeout
The AD connect sync to office365 also works with 4.10.18
i can not test with 4.11.x because on this version there is another bug
requarding adding DNS records.
so:
4.10.x -> the sync works
4.11.x -> i can not test
4.12.6 -> the sync fails with Errorcode: 0x55

Printing problem, CUPS
Hi,
I have a wierd problem regarding printing.
I use the CUPS-backend on a debian-box to share printers with samba.
Sometimes for no apperently reason, a win-box (XP-home) just can't print
after a reboot... and no matter how many reboots the win-box makes it
just stops working, and dosen't work until samba is restartet.... and
its not a samba crash, because other win-boxes prints

Cups printers. Won't print first page! sometimes not atall.
Hi,
I use Samba and cups on my debian-box to share printers, but sometimes,
for no apperently reason, windows machines (XP-pro and XP-home),
sudently won't print after reboot and this is only solved by a samba
restart. Other times the first print after win-reboot, just gets lost,
and never apper in the cups-printing log.
It's not domain controled, but everyone is mounting their

flags not synced correctly with dovecot sync (dsync)
I'm running dovecot 2.3.4.1 from https://repo.dovecot.org/ on Ubuntu
18.04 on three machines that I'll call server, laptop1 and laptop2.
Both laptop1 and laptop2 run dovecot sync against server to keep local
copies of my imap folders. Even when I initially had only two machines,
laptop1 and server, I occasionally noticed that flags were lost, usually
custom flags used by Gnus, but I

EXT2 vs. EXT3: mount w/sync or fdatasync
My application always needs to sync file data after writing. I don't want anything handing around in the kernel buffers. I am wondering what is the best method to accomplish this.
1. Do I use EXT2 and use fdatasync() or fsync()?
2. Do I use EXT2 and mount with the "sync" option?
3. Do I use EXT2 and use the O_DIRECT flag on open()?
4. Do I use EXT3 in full journaled mode,

External password sync, unix password sync / passwd program
Hi:
I've been trying to set up external password sync to Google Apps -- and
went so far as to write a script, before realizing "unix password sync" and
"passwd program" etc., don't seem to be working in samba 4.2.0 rc2 in AD DC
mode.
I also stumbled on this prior list posting saying unix password sync
doesn't work -- though the MAN pages suggest this is supported:

doveadm sync -1 -R
Hi,
I?m migrating an old Zarafa-installation to a dovecot using mdbox and sis on Debian Jessie. To copy over the emails, I use doveadm backup on the new box - or more precisely:
vmail# doveadm -v -o imapc_user=$user -o imapc_password=$pass -o imapc_host=$host -o imapc_features=rfc822.size -o imapc_port=993 -o mailbox_list_index=no -o imapc_ssl_verify=no backup -R -x "Public folders*"

mbox 2 Maildir
Hi,
I am experimenting with the migration.
I unset mail_location, thus it is empty and dovecot performs automatic
mailbox detection. Therefore I do not need per-user set of mail
location. I login as a testuser and do:
doveadm sync maildir:~/Maildir
It seems for me that in this situation the new Maildir becomes the
active mail delivery location at the time of the creation(?) or
completing the

time sync for windows workstations
Hi all,
On our DC's we use ntp to keep time synced. I've googled a bit on AD and
time sync on workstations, and it seems they are supposed to sync their
time with the time on the DC.
I see however that in our network, this is not occuring: there is a
minute time difference between the dc's and my workstation.
Is this something that samba has not yet implemented, or is there

flags not synced correctly with dovecot sync (dsync)
I should add that these problems arise frequently in practice, even if
changes are only being made on a single machine, e.g. laptop1. Flag
changes on laptop1 propagate to server, but then are reverted on server
when laptop2 syncs with server, and then are reverted on laptop1 when it
syncs again with server. If I redo the flag changes on laptop1, the
process just repeats and they are removed

New User
I'm totally new to using Wine and for that matter Fedora. I recently installed Wine as a package. I've been trying to run Delphi applications using Wine and everytime I try to run it say that c:\\windows is not accessible. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

OT: suggestion need on Sync in the windows way.
I agree,
If the synology uid and gid is working right than nfs would be great. it
would be easy...
However, it seem that they have something else running under samba/nfs to
control the permission on the files/folder...
I would like to use bidir sync because I like some of the synology feature
on remote sync and etc which is making remote access much easier compare to
samba...
But these sync

sync always, strict sync, cache question
Hello,
I've been using samba to share folders for a number of years now.
thankyou very much to the samba team.
Now I'm posed with some questions.
I have a couple of servers hosting desktops for thinclient users.
Until now I have been mounting /home with NFS on these servers.
Recently we have upgraded the whole system and have run into write
performance issues with the NFS server.
