Hi, I am experimenting with the migration. I unset mail_location, thus it is empty and dovecot performs automatic mailbox detection. Therefore I do not need per-user set of mail location. I login as a testuser and do: doveadm sync maildir:~/Maildir It seems for me that in this situation the new Maildir becomes the active mail delivery location at the time of the creation(?) or completing the sync(?). I should add that these problems arise frequently in practice, even if changes are only being made on a single machine, e.g. laptop1. Flag changes on laptop1 propagate to server, but then are reverted on server when laptop2 syncs with server, and then are reverted on laptop1 when it syncs again with server. If I redo the flag changes on laptop1, the process just repeats and they are removed again. I agree, If the synology uid and gid is working right than nfs would be great. it would be easy... However, it seem that they have something else running under samba/nfs to control the permission on the files/folder... I would like to use bidir sync because I like some of the synology feature on remote sync and etc which is making remote access much easier compare to samba...
