Nut, IIRC, can do a periodic battery test by putting it offline, using
the battery, for a predetermined length of time, weekly, monthly etc,
and IIRC recording the battery voltage just as it switches back to line
power. The comparative voltage level at the switchback point is a pretty
good indication of the battery condition, and I think that could be used
to trigger an "I need a new battery" email message well ahead of an
unexpected total fail shutdown.

ZFS/NFS - SC 3.2 and AVS - HOWTO [SOLVED]
...1) Using "shared discs" (global devices).
2) Using "non-shared discs" (local devices).
- The solution (1) is more simple, and we can use the HAStoragePlus resource type
that we can found in the SC 3.2 installation. And as the data are "unique", i mean,
in a failover/switchback scenario the "same" disc will be used in one or another host, the practical purpose is clear.
The HOWTO for ZFS/NFS HA using shared discs (global devices), can be found here:

Test environment question
...ple test it in this test environment....
A) Then I can deal with the index filesystem in one of two ways:
1) Make it local OR
2) NFS import it from the production DC server
Comments as to which is best? I have used #1 before...which caused some
temporary unhappiness with the switchover and switchback....during which
time the index is badly wrong and DC auto-rebuilds it...
B) Is there anything else I should do/not do?
C) Any ugliness that will surface in this testing lashup but isn't
important?
