Scriptaculous and Photo Flipper a la TagWorld?
...fferent sizes or just
x/y-offset a bit from each other. On timer or onclick, the top one slides in
some determined direction/distance, pauses, then slide back to its original
position, but with the lowest z-order value. Being able to resize (zoom in
when a pictures moves to the front) would be even sweeter.
Seems like this could be done with existing Scriptaculous effects and some
sort of Queue, but I''m afraid I''m a real Scriptaculous novice at this point
and can''t say for sure.

Add arrows to a filled.contour margin
...s(0.95,0,0.95,1,lwd=2)
This work, but the problem is that I find the coordinates at random try, for
other graphic with other scale is other fight with coordinates. Anybody know
a more easy or more generalized way to make this? Somethink like this
mtext(arrows(),side=4).
Thanks

how to HABTM with STI ??
Hello all
This is my first post so excuse the basic question. (and any repeats I just
got an email saying this post was too big so I have re-submitted a smaller
version)
I was following the thread on
http://lists.rubyonrails.org/pipermail/rails/2006-May/038988.html regarding
the STI on HABTM for RoR.
I have a very similar problem and was hoping for some help.

The point of RSpec is syntactic sugar, and I have not yet learned how much
sweeter I can make that. So far, I have learned how to use it to make
well-formed English sentences (modulo all the _() delimiter crap!).
Writing acceptance tests with this system is just plain fun. Click one of

Op-lock error
...oplocks=off in my smb.conf and commented that statement out in an
attempt to wring a little more performance out of this dog. Do I need to
turn oplocks off? Are they on by default?
Is the global section the right place for the oplocks option?

Trouble variable scoping a function writing with get()
I am having trouble with variable scoping inside/outside functions. I
want to use get() to grab a named and quoted variable as an input to a
function, however the function can't find the variable when it is entered
into the function call, only when it is named in the main environment.
I obviously am not so clear on variable scoping, and ?get really doesn't
clear up my confusion.

Is Wine supporting .tlb files
In the course of the installation of trados, I have the runtime of the installshield ISProbe.tlb failing with error 2 (not found), although it's correctly there as well as dao2535.tlb of microsoft shared (not there but I could get it from the XP installation).
Questions are: Why is the first seen as not found although it's there - is this a registry problem?
Are these files important

recent 's' and 'n' priorities and lables
Hi all,
With the recent 's' and 'n' priorities, as well as the advantage of
labels, dialplan management has become *much* simpler IMHO.
However, I have one suggestion for possible improvement. In any of the
Goto[If|IfTime] statements, the ability to do 's' + a number or label +
a number would be _nice_.
Example extensions.conf:

[914] trunk/wxsugar/README.txt: Added README for WxSugar

dsync redesign
In case anyone is interested in reading (and maybe helping!) with a dsync redesign that's intended to fix all of its current problems, here are some possibly incoherent ramblings about it:

and even if you don't understand that, here's another document disguising as an algorithm class problem :) If anyone has thoughts on how to solve it, would

SELinux threads, cynicism, one-upmanship, etc.
After reading through the various SELinux threads, I really became quite
perturbed. I mean, really quite perturbed.
As an IT Director (and the entire IT department, currently), if I were hiring
a sysadmin I know for a fact that someone whose first response to a question
on why something doesn't work is 'turn it off' would not get a job here.
Neither would a sysadmin with as much

patch for Icon
I just checked out a fresh copy and had to tweak wxIcon.h to get it to
compile on Mac OS X and windows. The problem is with:
wxIcon(const wxString& filename,
wxBitmapType type = wxBITMAP_TYPE_XPM,
int desiredWidth=-1, int desiredHeight=-1);
that signature is only used on GTK on other systems it is:

The hidden costs of GPL software?
Hello,
In the latest 'Scientific Computing World' magazine (issue 78, p. 22), there
is a review on free statistical software by Felix Grant ("doesn't have to
pay good money to obtain good statistics software"). As far as I know, this
is the first time that R is even mentioned in this magazine, given that it
usually discuss commercial products.

A challenge from a CMS implementer
Hey guys
RoR evangelists keep telling us that they have the #1 framework for
developing webapps. OK, but show us something that works and is useful
to many people out there. I could be wrong, but it doesn''t seem as if
there is anything that qualifies, as yet?
So I''ve got a little challenge for you: come up with a decent plugin
WYSIWYG visual editor for CMS. There are several
