WINT-NT is working as PDC and Redhat Linux Samba BDC and how to use rsync?
Can anybody give me a hint how to set up Samba BDC(RedHat 9.0) with
rsync-ing WIN-NT PDC so that if WIN-NT PDC is down all the clients can
still get Authentication service from Samba BDC(RedHat 9.0). i have seen
in Samba documentation that it can be done using rsync but nowhwere it
is clearly explained howto do it.. I ran out of gas by looking through
google also... :-(
With Best Regards

[LLVMdev] VMKit build broken
Hi,
I just thought of trying vmkit and checked out the source
from the svn repo a few minutes back. The build is failing with the
following error.

TC show filter command shows all u32 filters defined with different priority iin all priority.
Hi,
I am currently working on the TC.
I have seen some behaviour which seems to be odd.
I know someone in the mailing list would have seen this problem or may
have some fix for this problem.
When I try to include u32 filters with different priority or pref, I
could see the filters being set on all the priority''s irrespective of
the priority number.
See my sample script below and the

flacPak logo
I created a quick mini banner logo based on the flac logo and put it up
for viewing (its not publicly linked yet). Let me know if this is ok
with you, or if you would rather me come up with something original :)
My only complaint about it, is that I like the font you used better.

[LLVMdev] VMKit build broken
Hi Balachandran,
If this is a bug, it should be filed to clang, since you're compiling a
file located in the clang project. But it looks like your llvm tree and
clang tree are not in sync. Could you svn update both and see if that fixes
it?

Problem with smbpasswd
Hi all,
I've just set up password encryption using 1.9.18p4. I compiled with NO
ALLOW_CHANGE_PASSWORD option because compilation didn't work (I'm using
HP-UX 10.20). Everything seems to be working correctly instead of a
'normal' user trying to change his (samba-) password using smbpasswd
(root can change any password). The messages I receive are as follows:

More FlacPak stuff
For those who are interested in checking out my initial specification
for the FlacPak format, I updated the web pages at:
http://swami.sourceforge.net/flacpak.php
The direct link to the specification notes:

For those who weren't reading the previous threads, FlacPak is a format
being designed to handle compression of files containing binary and

RODBC - dsn specification
Happy New Year to all in the list!
I am trying to issue an SQL query to a database from R using

disk : C:\Program Files\ODBC\sql.dsn
The "\" character does not get interpreted properly in R - it
is removed from the file-spec string or if I specify "\\" it
appears as such with a syntax error in

User directories in /home are missing
Hi,
I use Redhat Enterprise Edition 2.4.21 kernel version. In my system all
the user directories in /home disappeared. No one deleted it. But I
don't know how it is missing. I had one or two open sessions where I
already logged in as root and cd'ed to one particular home directory.

BTRFS, getting darn slower everyday
Hi,
I have 4 machines, all converted to BTRFS about 6 months ago, now all
running Ubuntu Quantal with kernel 3.5.0-17
The matter is that all these machines are now getting slower and slower
everyday, every disk access causing the disk to be 100% busy for long
periods, to the point that I''m now seriously considering migrating
everything back to ext4...
From the start BTRFS was "not

BTRFS and the steadily lit LED
Hi guys,
After having received strong advice from the people in this list to
upgrade my kernel to the latest one, I have installed 3.8.0-14-generic
#24-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 on several (4) machines.
In the hope of improving systems speed I had also removed all snapshots
then defragged the FSes - the snapshots have been recreated since, as I
use the excellent SuSE "Snapper" tool.
But well,

Problem with CRAM and flac-1.1.2
A user of CRAM (http://swami.sourceforge.net/cram.php) sent in a bug
report related to decoding of CRAM files. This issue occurs with
flac-1.1.2 but not previous versions (such as flac-1.1.1). Note that
the same file is used for this test (hopefully ruling out any issue with
the encoder).
Details of the issue:

Help understanding btrfsck output...
Hi there,
I have a system on which btrfsck gives the following output... I don''t
understand the meaning of the reported errors, so any clue would be
appreciated. Is this something I should worry about, or not ?
Would I be advised to try "--repair" ? (Last time I tried this one, it
completely b0rked a filesystem, beyond repair, and my wife would kill me
ifever I trash this one,
