Installation of Samba on SVR3 unix
Hi
I have attempted to install Samba on an ageing Motorola running SVR3.
Unfortunately it has a limitation of 14 characters for filenames,
which means that when I untar the package, many of the files are not
created.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem, or am I stuck?
Many thanks

PrivSep and portability
Hi,
I've seen a few patches related to the PrivSep works. As far as I can
see, it seems to work by using a shared memory segment to communicate.
I just want to point out that there are some unix systems that do not
have mmap() (SCO, older SVR3 systems) or that might have problems with
anonymous shared mmap() (don't have an examples, but e.g. the INN docs
are full of warnings concerning mmap()).
So I want to ask you to make the PrivSep stuff compile-time configurable,
to enable building on "legacy" platforms.

Non-matching linkedid on CDR Records [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
...poses.
As part of this change we have added 'linkedid' to our CDR table schema in an attempt to join the multiple records into one billable record.
The call path can be simplified as (transport types in brackets):
SIP Phone---(SIP)---Asterisk Svr1---(IAX)---Asterisk Svr2---(IAX)---Asterisk Svr3---(SIP)---PSTN
As per the CDR spec, I expected the 'linkedid' to propagate between the records and be the same throughout...
However, we observe differing linkedid values for the same call... Thus (xxx's added for privacy):

oplock problem
Hello!
I need help (but who doesn's huh? :-) )
I meant to run one program - Money2000 (no, it is _not_ program from
Microsoft) together with samba on linux, but i have problems with oplocks.
This program is installed locally on win9x/NT and shares its databases. We
tried to place databases on novell, on NT server and on win95 acting as
server and everything worked fine. But when we tried

NULL ptr dereferences found with Calysto static checker
Hi,
I've ran my static checker Calysto on openssh and found the following bug:
Possible NULL-ptr deref (vc536):
@/work/benchmarks/SOURCES/openssh-4.6p1/moduli.c:173
+ ptr gtm returned from gmtime dereferenced without checking (gmtime can
return NULL).
There are probably more possible NULL-ptr dereferences, but Calysto
currently does not check the usage of library functions (for instance,

sudden loss of password validation
The problem: Strangely, the PDC rejects user password challenges from Samba.
The user account gets locked. After unlocking the account, everything is
back to normal. This happens several times a day to different users and from
different Samba servers. All Samba servers have the same [global]
configuration.
Is this a Samba problem? Is samba perhaps not passing along the correct
password? If I add

Can anyone confirm it is a bug or a 'feature' of the prototype?

asmode.integer() -- RFC
Many of us known that sometimes, e.g. in calls to .C(..), you want to
basically say
x <- as.integer(x)
but you can't do that because as.vector()
and it's descendants such as as.integer, as.double, as.character
drop all attributes.
Several months ago, someone proposed to use a new function
As.integer() instead.
Since I just now again "stumbled" on it, I wondered if

Real sh? Or other efficient shell for non-interactive scripts
I'm sure most people here know about Dash in Debian. Have there
been discussions about providing a more efficient shell in Centos
for use with heavily invoked non-interactive scripts?
With sh being a link to bash in Centos I don't know if it would
explode if the link was changed to something else, but at least
the scripts we made on our own that run certain services could
be changed and

update config.guess and config.sub to support aarch64
Hello,
would it be possible to update config.sub and config.guess to the latest versions (or at least version
from automake-1.13.1) in order to support new architectures based on the ARM 64 bit CPU?
Patch: http://plautrba.fedorapeople.org/openssh/openssh-latest-config.sub-config.guess.patch
Related Fedora bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=926284
Thanks,
