Winbind sutff (Squid and Windows 2003)
Fellows, hello...
My first post. :)
The environment:
Samba 3.0.5, Windows 2003 (domain controller), Squid 2.5-STABLE and
FreeBSD 5.2.1.
I'm facing this problem:
While trying to authenticate the users inside Windows 2003 through the
proxy server, using the wb_auth auth program, i can see the lines
below in my log.winbindd

Can this config sustain 30 users?
...Card for PSTN service.
24 SIP users and one E1 card in an Intel 945board (533 Front side bus)
with 1GB DDR 533mhz of ram, one Pentium Dual Core 2.66 ghz (FSB
533MHZ) and two 80GB SATA disks.
Can the box sustain the load? I can add another 1gb of ram if necessary.
Just PBX and voicemail, no fancy sutff like call recording...
maybe a simple autoattendant like "thank you for calling, please press
one for...."

HyperV (win2012) storage on Samba4
...ir was a
mail sometime mentioning ioctls/fsctls needs to be implemented to support
SMB3 (
https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2013-September/095190.html).
As this mail is not very recent, I just want to check if this is still is a
road blocker.
Can anyone suggest if they have tried his sutff; does it work? Is latest
samba implementation supports exposing Linux shares to store/deploy HyperV
VMs
Thanks,

Thus far I'm very happy with it. I never originally intended to use
klibc but I couldn't get the in-kernel DHCP code to work reliably in
some cases and hacking it further didn't seem attractive at the time
so I tried klibc.
My overblown (contains sutff I don't need/use) initramfs image is a
whopping great 95k --- an indication that klibc is a very powerful
alternative and can also be quite small. It could be smaller but it
hardly seems worth the effort given that the space is reclaimed via
run-init's transition to the real filesystem.

The issue is that I cannot change my subscriptions through Thunderbird

now it won't let me change them. dovecot responds with sutff like this
when I sniff network traffic or configure Thunderbird to log IMAP traffic:

The time stamp on the .subscriptions.lock file gets updated every time I
try to make a change. To test I edited .subscriptions by hand and

I am only asking for someone to show me the site and maybe a few
pointers on how to start it up. Only because I don't have the time or
experience to do it quickely enough to get the newbies off the list. And
I am a bit slow with apache and web type sutff, as you can tell by my
website codetyrant.com.
I will personally pay for the hosting of the list.
It is not that I am tired or will ever grow tired of passing out fish
and giving fishing lessons it is just I don't have the good fortune to
be adept at web interfaces.
Also, suggestions for the...

Windows link.exe error : libbrass.lib(brass_table.obj) : unresolved external symbol _inflateEnd
Hi guys,
I discovered xapian today and I'm trying it because it looks promising
compared to other FTS engines.
However I'm in a windows environment so it's a bit painful to set up as
there is no official binaries.
I've heard about http://www.flax.co.uk/xapian_binaries
And I'm trying to build their latest release (1.2.8).
After a few tries I manage to compile everything with

A Nightmare on Rails Street: Windows Lives!
Just spent 40+ hours in two days deploying my app on Windows 2000. Not
all the time was Apache/MySql related, but a significant portion was.
What a nightmare that was. Unfortunately, the customer is dead-set on
"standardizing" by using Windows. So, as I sat there between a Linux
box and an AIX box working on this thing, I ran into problems, part of
which were:
CGI was slow (Dell
