Problems using imported data
(Repeat of previous HTML version)
Hello all,
I am a new R user and I have finally imported my data using
>read.delim("Filename.txt", header=TRUE) after some difficulty, by changing file directories (a hint to anyone who might be stuck there).
However, I am now stuck trying to use my data. When I try to use data.frame("filename.txt") it tells me object not found, which

Which grid framework should I use?
...rying to create a web application with Rails, being new
to both Rails and web development, I''m trying to figure out how to best
compose its layout. So far I''ve been tipped about the Blueprint framework.
Just as I was learning Blueprint however, I discovered a Sass-based
framework: Susy (http://susy.oddbird.net/). As I like the Haml language a
lot (so far), I definitely see the appeal of a Sass-based framework.
What''s the popular option among experienced Rails developers these days? Is
Susy often used?
Thanks!

R on AIX?
Hi,
Last year our systems group tried to install R on an IBM
p5-570 machine (16 nodes, 256 GB shared RAM), running AIX 5.3. They
ran into all sorts of difficulties and finally gave up.
I am interested in trying again (and working with an IBM support
group if necessary), but before embarking on this odyssey I was
wondering if anyone on this list has ever successfully run
R on a similar

IPv6?
Hi Phil,
The answers are in the links but I'll expand a little below! 😉
> How can this be? Everything I have read about SMB for the last 20 years or so has said that it is based entirely on NetBIOS, and has no concept even of IPv4; that it is NBT that translates NetBIOS to run over IPv4.
SMB does not have to be carried by NetBIOS. The too protocols can be decoupled. This is

Reopening sqlite3 db
Hello,
I am not sure if I trigger a bug and if so it could also be in ruby
sqlite3 backend. However, maybe I do something totally wrong.
I have the following part in puppet.conf:
[master]
storeconfigs = true
dblocation = /var/lib/puppet/state/clientconfigs.sqlite3
dbadapter = sqlite3
Now every time a client (agent in puppet speak) is run I get one more
connection to the

What's wrong with my code?
I've written out codes for one particular file, and now I want to generate
the same kind of graphs and files for the rest of similar data files.
When I plugged in these codes, R produced only one plot for the file
"eight", and it states my error(see below) I have edited and checked my
codes so many times but still couldn't figure out what's wrong with
it...would you please

[Patch] Add NMI Injection and Pending Support in VMX
Currently, Xen does not support injecting an NMI to HVM guest OS. Adding
this
feature is necessary for those softwares which depend on NMI to function
correctly,
such as KDB and oprofile.
The attached patch allows NMI to be injected to guest OS in NMIP capable
platforms.
It also enables to queue an NMI and then inject it as soon as possible.

What's wrong with my code? (Edited version-added my data)
I've written out codes for one particular file, and now I want to generate
the same kind of graphs and files for the rest of similar data files.
For example, a file "8.csv" would look like such:

C out 132 de
E in 111 de
A in 13 cf

New btrfs-progs integration branch
I''ve just pushed out a new integration branch to my git repo. This
is purely bugfix patches -- there are no new features in this issue of
the integration branch. I''ve got a stack of about a dozen more patches
with new features in them still to go. I''ll be working on those
tomorrow. As always, there''s minimal testing involved here, but it
does at least compile on

touch creating message?
...apt-get install shorewall command so therefore
I assume I''ve used the .deb version but /etc/default/shorewall doesn''t
exist so how do I set startup=1?
2. There was a message at the command prompt after starting
shorewall for the first time that read "touch creating
/var/lock/susys/shorewall: no such file or directory" ?
3. There appears from time to time a whole line or two of
gobble-di-gook on the command line!
I''m excited after 3 weeks and trying several different packages that
I''ve got this far at last :-)

IPv6?
Hi Phil,
NBT name resolution is IPv4 only. Samba does work over IPv6, but NetBIOS name resolution is and always will be IPv4 only. It is a feature of the protocol not Samba.
Take a look at http://www.ipv6consultancy.com/ipv6blog/wp-content/uploads/sambaxp-2015-deploying-ipv6-only-samba-4-environments-v0_4.pdf and other presentations on the subject at

And LLMNR is windows-only, mDNS is not supported by Windows, so the only
inter-operable way is DNS? Are there any other name resolution systems?

I had my own perfectly functioning dns server using 8.8.8.8 as the
upstream. Aparently I now have to use the Windows DC as the DNS server
to resolve windows host names. I guess

Repacking files on ext3?
I found this thread from a few months ago that seems to have been
started by someone with the same problem I have, but it was not resolved:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/ext3-users/2005-March/msg00000.html
I have been trying to speed up my boot times and I notice that a lot of
time is spent waiting on IO. Even with readahead-list precacheing
files, it is reading at less than 1/4 of my

Update on gnome-power-manager
The FAQ mentions how to configure nut to pass the power information to
HAL so that gnome-power-manager can display it, but HAL has been
depreciated and removed from Ubuntu since 2007. Has nut been updated to
worth with UPower instead?

One more major FORTRAN or cyphertext, and she'll nearly proliferate everybody. My
