Trying to understand Suspend 2
I am trying to understand Suspend 2 and what I have to do to get it
working in Centos 5. There is quite a bit for it at ATrpms:
http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/hibernate-suspend2/
http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/kernel-suspend2/
The later is the kernel patches that they refer to at the Suspend2
website, so I don't have to recompile the kernel?
I noticed that over at: http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/madwifi/
There are even rpms for BOTH Suspend2 and Madwifi (my situat...

Suspend2 rpm for Centos 4.5 and 5.0?
Is there a source for Suspend2 available as an rpm for Centos 4.5 and/or
5.0?
And to use it would it be necessary to recompile the kernel?

Possible Filesystem Corruption with Samba 3.0.25a (with XFS and LVM)
...k, /storage was
the LVM managed partition made up of multiple disks.
I noticed the corruption issue on the server around the time my
Bittorrent client Deluge Torrent
(http://download.deluge-torrent.org/stable/deluge-0.5.1.1.tar.gz) was
allocating space for a download. The client machine was Gentoo
suspend2-sources 2.6.21-r6.
I'm not saying this is Samba's bug for sure, but I am trying to find
out what's responsible. I've had long chats with people involved with
XFS in the #xfs chatroom on Freenode, and they've stated that XFS has
checks that prevent itself from writing to block 0...

Multimedia on Centos 5
Dear friends:
Is there a single source for the multimedia applications that are not included
with Centos 5: RealPlayer, Mplayer, mplayerplug-in, Acrobat Reader, Java,
libdvdcss, etc.?
Would appreciate your help.
Thank you so much.

In the market for a new (old) laptop
Changes at my day job (we have a big merger being finalized), has me in
the market for a new laptop.
They may require me to only run the approved XP build on the system they
provide.
I do not know if they will fund another unit for me or not, so I am
looking to go cheap. Here is what I am looking for:
Runs Centos (duh!)
Supports Suspend to memory as well as to disk.

[klibc] fstype: tuxonice swap signature
please find attached a patch which adds support for tuxonice (formerly
suspend2) swap partition recognition to klibc-utils 1.5.8-1. It adds two
new signatures to swap space detection which are used by tuxonice in
version 3.0-rc5 (don't know when they were put in use, but fstype
stopped working for me some time ago).
