i suspect that there a memory leak in "vmmin"?
Dear listers, Am currently using MCMC approaches to estimate some parameters of my model. One parameter has to be updated using a tuned gamma distribution. So at each iteration I estimate the mean and variance of the density of the gamma approximation using "vmmin" (i also supply the gradient argument). For moderate replications the procedure works, but if I increase them R crashes.

[MemorySSA] Potential CachingMemorySSAWalker bug
I suspect something is pulling the RHS of the memorydef and caching it for calls it should not be used for. In particular, i suspect we are about to discover we can't cache the results from both versions of getClobberingMemoryAccess together, or that the cache is not always getting consistently written. Input/output error
Hi All, About once a week, I get a this strange error on bash command line. Running any command on the command line results in " Input/output error". Only way to get back to normal operation is to hard reboot the machine. I suspect this is something to do with my file system. I am using RH7.3 with ext3 file system on IBM Travelstar drives. I use dd to duplicate the drives. The source

Suspect error in windows version of 3.60
Gentlemen, I've observed a suspected bug in R-3.60 for Windows 10. I am using the latest R version, but I have observed the same error in all releases: alpha, beta RC and released. Also the same issue occurs in the 32 and 64 bit GUI versions. The program header I invoke is: R version 3.6.0 Patched (2019-04-26 r76431) -- "Planting of a Tree" Copyright (C) 2019 The R

Reporting bugs
I recently subscribed to the bugs mailing list and submitted a suspected bug. The report seems to be ignored. I am guessing that it is being ignored because I am not actually an asterisk user and I am unable to supply the version or configuration of the suspect site. So then I thought I should get an account for one of the forums. I tried repeatedly to create an account but it always told me

CFG normalization: avoiding `br i1 false`
> I'm not necessarily sympathetic to the idea of adding another canonicalization pass only for this purpose. The problem is that as you said, SimplifyCfg does all sorts of stuff, and I suspect is not the fastest pass in the world. Also, in the case that annoys me, there is an LCSSA pass in the middle, and I suspect it would be a better idea to only do the LCSSA etc. transform again if no

my next question: no accesss
Even if I can find back a share, (which I sometimes can, for no clear reason) then the next message I get is "no access". I suspect this may be a Linux config thing, but I am still unable to figure what ownership rights I should give to the shares: root:root or someuser:users or samba:samba (this user:group does not exist as yet). What is meant by no access: is it a Windows or a

openvpn client and KDE Network Manager - with CentOS7
Hi All, I am switching from Fedora20 to CentOS7 since I now run all my Linux development in a VM and I get a more robust feature set (i.e. shared folders with the host that "just work", etc) The only issue I have thus far is VPN connections. Looking at what's installed on my old Fedora install I suspect I need these packages: kde-plasma-nm-vpnc kde-plasma-nm-openvpn

status on NewGVN?
Greetings, I just found a bug in NewGVN: https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35839 I noticed that it's off by default in clang. I'm going to turn it off by default in zig too, since it has a bug. What's the current status? Are we trying to move towards using it by default in llvm 6.0.0? 7.0.0? Regards, Andrew Kelley http://ziglang.org/ -------------- next part -------------- An

OT - yum missing from a RHEL4 server???
Hi List; Sorry for the OT post. However I suspect if anyone outside of RH can help with this question it would be this list. I'm starting a new contract with a shop that knows little about Linux and I'm helping pave the way. I've "inherited" an existing Linux install (RHEL4). I want to setup some tools but I find that yum is not installed. Is this normal for a RH box ? I

Why is looping in R inefficient, but in C not?
Hey, I just read another post about calling R from C. Someone on stackoverflow (DWin makes me suspect its David W.?) referenced this: http://www.math.univ-montp2.fr/~pudlo/R_files/call_R.pdf Which made me think: Why is a loop in R bad, but in C not? And where exactly does looping cost the most? I wrote a piece of code for my bachelor's thesis where I loop from 1 to 500, and estimate a

Trouble Donating on centos.org
Hello, I tried making a donation via the centos.org website but was blocked by PayPal. I tried today and a few weeks ago. The error I got in both instances was: "The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number." This strikes me as a strange response. It didn't say the card was declined; it said it "cannot be

OT: Suggestions for database for physicians patient records?
This is very OT. If list readers can point me in the right direction, to other mailing lists, or web sites for recommended databases, that will be much appreciated! My wife's doctor wants to move records, for approximately 6000 patients (over a 12 year period), from paper (18th century) to a database (20th century). The data entry will be a PITA, for his secretaries, regardless of what
