Samba 4 posixGroup mapping
Hi I've created a Samba 4 group called suseusers and mixed in posixGroup and gidNumber using samba-tool group add as a basis. It works, e.g. when I added an existing user to the group: getent group suseusers suseusers:*:2000: and getent passwd steve4 steve4:x:3000019:2000:steve4:/home/CACTUS/steve4:/bin/bash and id uid=3000019(steve4) gid=20...

Win95 client can see everyone but linux box
Hi, I'm lucky enough to have samba working fine on SuSE 8.0, sharing a printer with several windows computers. Earlier today I even had my new wireless card working on a Win95 laptop and it could see the whole network, and I wirelessly printed from my living room. COOL. Unfortunately, I screwed it up. The wireless card seems to conflict with the old pcmcia (wired) card and so I

Beginner feeling a little better now
Hi Samba Mailing list Many thanks for the help as I had problems with my first Linux session and couldn't get the Linux box on to the Windows network. I seem to have managed to get things working by adding "netbios name = webserver" to the config file. Then creating and adding a password to a user account using "smbpasswd -a NEWUSER" The original config (delivered with

Moterboard help Please
All, I have been terribly pleased with openbsd 3.2 I was using it as a mail/samba server with postifx on a pentium pro 200 with 1 gig of memory. Well I wanted to add a larger harddrive than what I have in it now only 6.4 gig. Well the machine would not see it and for some reason after hours and hours of trying I can't get a tekram 395UW and a 18gig scsi to be the boot drive and having failed
