Remove them and it fails to find 'root' username to join. Re: the Docs, I guess I assumed that Suse9 and SLES9 would act the same way. They must not. I'll have to setup a Suse9 box to test it. Does R do its own swapping out to disk? I disabled Linux swapping and the system still gets stuck in Purgatory where there's little CPU activity but the disk goes like crazy. That's with R having almost the whole machine to itself and running a memory hungry compute only function. I've seen this behavior with other version numbers but I'm running R 2.0.0 under Fedora Core 3.

I downloaded the new 8.3 (tgz format) ldap-tools from IDEALX today. When I run the smbldap-populate script I receive an error that it cannot find the smbldap_tools.pm file. This file was not included in the tar file. I'm getting a little better than 10MByte per minute transfering files from the shared mount point to another directory on the Linux server. The Linux server is: SuSE9 Proliant DL380 RAID 5 w/ 3200 HW RAID Controller 1G RAM Intel 100 3163 NIC I also have a RH 8 server on the same subnet. A similar test there yielded better results. A 14MByte transfer took 27secs. I know my NIC is fine as I can ftp that 14MByte file back to the suspect server in about 17secs....

Hi, I'm trying to run some old delphi application, which uses BDE to connect to an access mdb file. The application displays an error, that it couldn't open the database. I can run BDEADMIN and I see that database aliases are configured propoerly.
