to get the R-Squared value
Dear all,
I know there are 'coef', 'predict', 'fit' to get the corresponding
outputs. Is that possible to get the value of R-squared from a 'lm'
output?
Many thanks.

mfrow
Dear members,
I want to create 8 graphs and write it into one page using mfrow=c(4,2).
How to make all graphs (including the titles, legends, line types) to be
scale down (resized proportionally).
As an illustration, below is the code:
pdf("testmfrow.pdf")
par(mfrow=c(4,2))
x<-seq(1:10)
y1<-rnorm(10)
y2<-rnorm(10,mean=2,sd=1)
y3<-rnorm(10,mean=3,sd=1)

to get R-squared value
Many thanks again for all help.
I then also learnt that to get the "Adjusted R-squared", I just issued
command "summary(lm(y~x))$adj.r.squared".

regression with replication
Dear all,
I would like to fit a linear regression with replication (on each year,
observation is replicated, e.g 4 times). The independent variable ranges
for instance 1-5 year, so I expect to have a linear fit of 5 points.
For that purpose I do these (with dummy variables x and y):
x<-rep(seq(1:5),4)
y<-rnorm(20)
linreg<-lm(y~x)
fitted.values(linreg) # why produce 20 points of

Images and Alt Tags Acheiving Better Search Engine Ranking
Many years ago, my sister asked me to look at the Google <a
href="http://images.google.com/">Images search</a>
. When I first saw the page, I thought Google was offering a place for
freebie photos before I realized that it was probably searching for and
finding the "alt tag" text written in the HTML for website images. "Alt
tags" or "alt text"
