dimnames usage in ts (PR#1288)

I think this code in 'ts' is incorrect:
if (is.matrix(data) || is.data.frame(data)) {
nseries <- ncol(data)
ndata <- nrow(data)
dimnames(data) <- list(NULL, names)
}
since
> x <- data.frame(matrix(rnorm(100),ncol=10))

high dimensional convex hull
Does anyone know of a R package that will determine the convex hull of a
high-dimensional dataset (say 4-10 dimensions). I know chull works for
2D data.
I'm neophyte to R and convex hulls so please keep it simple.
Many thanks

MFWorks and R
I know there is some integration between Grass and R available, but
has anyone produced a link between R and MFWorks.
I am considering Buying MFWorks (Windows) and it would be useful to
know if anyone has written such a link.
Many thanks,

stepAIC/lme (1.6.2)
Based on the stepAIC help, I have assumed that it only was for lm, aov, and
glm models. I gather from the following correspondence that it also works
with lme models.

choosing a random element from a vector
I have a vector consisting of zeroes and ones, e.g. 101001.
I would like to pick a random element from this vector equal to one. In the
example above, that means that only elements 1, 3, or 6 can be chosen.
Is there a simple and fast way to do that? (my vector of zeroes and ones is
very large)
Thank you.

Codeweavers vs. RedHat distribution?
I am using the version of wine that came with RedHat 7.2. I just noticed
that Codeweavers has their own distribution of wine that includes what looks
like a convenient setup configuration utility. What are the pros and cons of
uninstalling what I got from RedHat and downloading and installing the rpm
from Codeweavers?
Thanks

"modified outside" bug.
Hi!
I can't find this bug in FAQ:
VisualC++ 5.0 alwais complains
"This source file has been modified outside the source editor. Reload?"
Sources are located on the last samba server under Linux. System clock
on Linux is set to Greenwich, zone offset applied.
I tried to set NT clock to be more than Linux, this does not help.

bug on cancor (PR#116)
When I use the function cancor of mva package, I found that it doesn't
work when one of the matrix has only one column, or both have only
one column. The function in Splus 5 with the same name works under those
situations.
The version of R I am using is 0.63.2 (released on Jan., 1999) on Solaris.
