Do I need to use dropterm()??
...th me. I've coded everything fine for an interaction that runs as follows: two sets of data (one for North aspect, one for Southern Aspect) and have a logscale on the x axis, with survival on the y. After calculating my anova results i have all significant results (ie aspect = sig, logscale of sunlight = sig, and aspect:llight = sig). When i have all significant results in my ANOVA table, do i need dropterm(), or is that just to remove insignificant terms? Many thanks, Dani -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Do-I-need-to-use-dropterm%28%29---tp15396151p15396151.html Sent f...

question about glm vs. loglin()
Dear R gurus, I am looking for a way to fit a predictive model for a contingency table which has counts. I found that glm( family=poisson) is very good for figuring out which of several alternative models I should select. But once I select a model it is hard to present and interpret it, especially when it has interactions, because everything is done "relative to reference cell". This

survival analysis and censoring
...sored have the same future risk as those who were a. not censored and b. have the same covariates. The real problem with informative censoring are the covaraites that are not in the model; ones that I likely don't even know exist. Assume for instance that some unknown exposure X, Perth sunlight say, makes people much more likely to get both of the outcomes. Assume further that it matters, i.e., the study includes a reasonable number of people with and without this exposure. Then someone who has an early heart attack actually has a higher risk of colorectal cancer than a colleague of...

IVT SCD support status
Rainer, Arjen I was wandering around the code, and found that few things are missing around the IVT code: - no manpage, - no entry in driver.list - no device{mfr,model,type} in the code. I was about to submit a patch to address the above (ready to commit), but wanted first to get an update on the status. looking at the last thread, it's a bit unclear... I'm also interested an upsc
