Multimedia module; Internet Explorer; Atomic clock sync - sundry difficulties
After much struggle I am finally beginning to get some action from wine (codeweavers). Can anyone help me with the following: 1) A small program that calls an atomic clock in America to check the time and corrects that on the computer shows its window but says "external exception 80000100" when I ping it or leave it for a while. 2) WebDwarf - a website builder - seems to work quite

Questions on various and sundry IP phones, and cabling
I'm attempting to do a first-time Asterisk install at home, firstly for use by my self and my family, and secondly as a learning experience. I've got a new house, and the previous owners removed all but one (1) phone jack. So I figured I might as well build a PBX. Functional goals include station-to-station calling, rudimentary auto attendant/voice mail, and perhaps tieing into the

FARFON lives!
...of the gang ... we're proud to have accomplished our final milestone #10 yesterday with successful network boot of the FARFON. We've got 3 (mostly) functional, but not very pretty to look at prototypes now. Next step is to build 50 pre-production units which will be sent to those wise and sundry. So, if you're interested in a (possibly slight late) Christmas stocking stuffer for your favourite IAX-head read on. This invitation to express your interest in testing the preproduction unit is primarily meant for those who are: a) actively developing IAX and * and can give feedback b)...

RFC on this idea...
...#39;m thinking this... a customer can access their stats by going to a URL such as http://server.com:8000/mountname/admin where they are then prompted for either their source login password or their own admin password (what would be best?) and be able to list clients and kill them, and whatever sundry administrivia may be available in the future. Thoughts? maybe it should be like http://server.com:8000/admin/mountname ? /dale

ANN: [Yet Another ] AJAXy Petstore
...world needed another Petstore. If it''s not, then let''s just say that for some esoteric reasons (to do with training and the JRuby project), some people in ThoughtWorks decided to create one, anyway. With rounded corners, gradient fills, autocompletion search, yellow fade effect and sundry Web 2.0 features... but no tag cloud! :) So, here is the demo: http://petstore.thoughtworks.com And here is the code: http://tw-commons.rubyforge.org/svn/petstore2/trunk/ It''s work in progress, especially the ratings/comments stuff and the checkout flow. Still, looks more 2007 than the J...

Solaris SMF services and their dependencies...
Hi all, I have an NFS server on our network sharing out package files for Puppet to install to all and sundry. The clients access said NFS server via an automounter configuration (I don''t want the packages share mounted all the time, only when installing packages) As a result, installation of packages depends on autofs... So I have the following: service { "autofs": ensure => running...

Newb to puppet - Solaris svcadm question
...File[/etc/puppet.txt]/owner: owner changed ''brian'' to ''root'' notice: Finished configuration run in 0.22 seconds Rockin! However for a ''real world'' demo what I''d like to do is create a manifest to shut down X Windows on my various and sundry servers. Why? Because that''s the way we roll. Also because SOX standards tell us we have to. /etc/puppet/manifests/classes/cde-login.pp class cde-login { service { cde-login: ensure => ''svcadm disable cde-login'', } } Nothing happens...

Arguments to "personalised" plot()
Hi Folks, I'm curious for an explanation of the following -- it's a matter of trying to understand how R parses it. I've written sundry little "helper" variants of functions, in particular plot(), to save repetitively typing the same options over and over again. For example: plotb <- function(x,...){plot(x,pch="+",col="blue",...)} This does exactly what you'd expect it to do when fed with a v...

Slackware 4.0: wtmp and pty.c problems
...og/wtmp is not updated on login/logpout using openSSH. I also note that, on the same setup, /var/log/wtmp IS updated correctly when using commercial SSH (version 1.2.26). Any suggestions how I should investigate this problem further? My C skills are basically limited to messing with Makefiles and sundry to get programs to compile, and I'm NOT competent to plunge into the code and post a diff to the list. Also, I note that ssh -V always returns SSH Version OpenSSH-1.2.1, protocol version 1.5 Not that this is a real problem, but it makes it difficult to see what preXX version I'm actually...

Dovecot newbie (migrating from qmail)
...how do I create the maildir? I understand the need to have a mail directory but also a directory for things like sieve - how to specify that? Im thinking the structure would be something like: /home/vmail/$domain/$user/mail <-- mail stored here /home/vmail/$domain/$user/ <-- sieve and other sundry store here Or should the sieve stuff also be under its own folder alongside the maildir? Is it possible to have a separate passwd file per domain? It is possible to combine password and userdb files into one per domain? (I prefer to keep all files related to each domain in its own folder). Also w...

Performance (cough cough) Poor: Instant Rails
Hi, In short, RoR is brand spanking new to me, I set up Instant Rails (if you can call copying files "setup") and made my own simple app via scaffold. One table, 11 cols, 100 rows. All is well, except when I view the data, it takes 5-10 seconds to show the page, 5-10 more seconds to get the edit page and so on. Going back to the previous page is no faster (via previous link).

printer only prints one page, if anything

Is it under Sundry, Print Settings? > As I also said previously in this thread, I set up the same printer > on Centos-8 without installing any Brother drivers, by going direct > to CUPS on port 631 and selecting Brother 2460 (since it didn't offer > 2360).
