problem compiling on a SParc4 Sun4m Solaris2.6
I am working with Solaris 2.6 and with the version of openssh 2.9.9-p2
I was able to compile for a UltraSpar 5 Sun4u with no problem.
But fot a Sparc4 Sun4m i'm getting this message:
./ssh : Exec format error. Wrong Architechture.
Do you have a hit why it's not working, is there and option i have to set?
thank you for your help

Problems building host keys on some SPARCs
...SH/ssh_client# sh build_host_key
/usr/local/bin/ssh-keygen: syntax error at line 1: `(' unexpected
These same invokations work fine on most of our other systems.
Info on the system above:
root at sylow:/source/USR_LOCAL/OFFICIAL/OPENSSH/ssh_client# uname -a
SunOS sylow 5.7 Generic_106541-07 sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-20
The only thing different I can see here is that the working systems
are Ultra class machines, and the non-working ones are SparcStations.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Latest SAMBA binaries for SunOS 4.1.3
Hello all
On my SunOS 4.1.3_U1 / SPARCstation 5 (ie. sun4m
architecture) server I am running SAMBA 1.9.15p8,
and I am having all sorts of permission problems.
For example, there are two AutoCAD drawings with identical
Unix ownership and permissions (ie. 666), sitting in the exact
same directory. The directory has 777 permissions.

openssh 3.7p1 sshd on Solaris 8 / sparcv9:

Re: detecting host machine in configure.in?
...att's suggestion. Note that target_cpu = i386 doesn't
(portably) imply an actual i386 but rather an x86-family processor.
> Is uname -m or uname -p more reliable?
You don't want to have to deal with those. Their output can vary
widely on different platforms, e.g.:
Solaris:
-m sun4m
-p sparc
OpenBSD:
-m sparc
-p SUNW,SPARCstation-20, TMS390Z50 v0 or TMS390Z55 @ 75 MHz, on-chip FPU

It's got to be the path somehow, despite having /opt/local/bin in the
config path, it can't find anything in there. I can symlink

MS-Access problems with samba-1.9.16p9
...database, only the
first user to open the files is shown in smbstatus's output.
Is this a problem with samba? If so is it fixed? If so, which version
should I upgrade to? I am looking for a reasonably stable release, but
have not been monitoring the list that carefully recently.
System is: Sun4m, SunOS 4.1.4.
Any assistance greatfully received.

Net Join Samba 4 to Samba 3 PDC?
Hi,
I have a retro LAN running things like Sun SPARCclassics, Ultra1s, Win98
and WinXP. I decided to standardize most of the Sun boxes on the latest
versions of OpenBSD that support their architectures (5.9 for Sun4c &
Sun4m, 7.4 for Sun4u). I have a Debian 7 server with RAIDs to store all the
packages, configs, games, etc. I like to use Samba to transfer the files
back and forth between the various systems.
I have always had all the smbd authenticate to a single smbd (on SERVER3)
to simplify password management. But...

But when you "export DISPLAY=..." it works!?
I set the the Display Hack so that I can see my IP with "env" or "echo

the Net I'm connected through.
