Samba 3.0.21c broken timezone handling
Hello,
I'm working in France (Europe), and use daylight saving time (aka DST aka
summertime). I upgraded my Samba server from 3.0.20b to 3.0.21c.
Got complaints from a user that all his *WINTER* files modification date
mysteriously shifted one hour ahead. It took me some time to find out the
culprit, since we just switched from wintertime to summertime.
On Unix (tested both Solaris 9 an...

Wintertime/summertime difference - Samba servers show wrong time ?
When the Central European Time was last switched back to standard,
at 03:00 last Sunday, the October 30th, a process died on one of my
Windows clients with a mysterious "unknown error". When it was
restarted it just went merrily on with its task. Luckily it wasn't
part of a life support system.
I found out that the immediate cause was how file timestamps were
interpreted/presented

Hello Jeremy,
welcome back - I hope you had a great vacation :-) - and I indeed took
summertime and this possibility into account in my previous mail two
weeks ago, so I hope I was not too impatient...
Anyway, I'm happy that you're back and hope that - well relaxed and
burning for action ;-) - you will be able to find some time soon to look
into my findings so far, because IMHO th...

Julian Dates
Hi,
I'm a bit confused how julian() works. If I understand right, it returns
the number of days since the origin.
I have a vector:

For some reason I began to repeat the same mistake, mixing sys-linux and sys-temd, haha.
At least one can laugh.
Sorry for disturbance,
it's summertime.

When does summertime come to Minnesota, you ask? Well, last year, I
think it was a Tuesday.

Dovecot CalDAV server

addressbooks and calendars are possible too this way ( and at last
anonymous read only ones ).
All other servers i know use some db backend. I guess you will have
hard times with clients, cause there are all kind of known bugs.
Specially serial appointment with/and different timezones over
summertime and wintertime changes seems difficult to code. Best way all
in UTC and let the client convert it in its local timezone.
Also there are two ways of invitations notices via mail , let the client
send it, or the server has to do it ( or perhaps combinate ).
So resources calenders are needed too ,fo...

Time synchronization issue
Hi,
I have set a Samba AD DC on my network. Version is 4.1.17 on a Debian
Wheezy.
I have an issue on my Windows XP SP3 clients : the time on these computers
is not synchronized with my Domain Controler.
Big problem is, if time difference is considerable (more or less 5
minutes), users can not log in.
On the other hand, my server is correctly synchronized with NTP server.
I don't

Could you try the following patch? Feel free to only apply the change
to readconfig.c if you want.

unfortunately, one more time, another two weeks have passed without any
reaction from neither Jeremy in person nor the Samba team/community. I
am quite a bit astonished, disappointed and negatively surprised indeed:

Dovecot CalDAV server
I've been once in a while over the years thinking about implementing CalDAV (and CardDAV) to Dovecot. It might be time to start that soon. Does anyone have any suggestions? So far my main goals would be:
- scalable, of course
- configurable storage (object storage, regular fs, maybe some key-value dbs, maybe storing as emails)
- efficient indexes (potentially using key-value dbs? or maybe
