Are both of the following statements meant to be true?
- Subsystems must be defined for the server to support them
- Protocol version 1 does not support subystems
For Linux, I need the following to enable sftp:
Subsystem sftp /usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server
However, if I comment out/remove this line and restart sshd, I can still
start sftp when using Protocol version 1.

Samba works simply as a forwarding mechinsim between the client and the
Unix printer subystem, and as such isn't able to do this kind of thing
easily. Your best bet might be to convince the unix printing subystems
to print a 'cover page' on the job, possibly aided with some info from
samba. (Which almost certainly will NOT contain the file's path).
Hope this helps,
Andrew Bartlett
