I have been having a problem with my icecast server running on CentOs. Occasionally, the service will stop running, but it will fail to restart because the subsys is locked. If the service stops, I need to manually log into my VPS, delete the empty file in /var/lock/subsys and restart the icecast service. Hello, Last week I downloaded and installed the 3.0.20a-23 release on Redhat ES 4 x86_64bit and noticed that I am getting the "Winbind Dead but subsys locked" status on winbind service. I can remove the /var/locl/subsys/winbindd file to clear the subsys locked message but this does not chnage the winbind crash problem.
