High resolution graphics from R Windows Vista
...re has been some recent discussion regarding generating publication quality graphics in R. I am fairly familiar with these issues and have had no problems generating high quality images from R windows version. However, I have recently install Vista and what previously worked well under XP now looks substandard when generated from R (using tiff(), jpeg(), etc) and I haven't been able to successfully recreate the same quality images. When I try and specifiy res in the tiff fuction I also get a crash. Has anyone else had these problems? Any suggestions. (Please don't advise me to "ditch Vista&q...

I never made any assumption athat anyone had any obligation to do anything
I just asked a question. If I was too vague, then i am sorry. I dont expect anyone to help me, but I thought that it was ok to put the question out there in case someone wanted to help me. I didnt expect abject hostility for it. Human decency was the only thing I did expect. If my question was a pain, badly formatted, or too juvinile, then i have no problem being ignored.I asked a question

...in seconds, so that agrees with the UPS display as well. > How you find out your battery was manufactured in 2012? APC batteries have a smart chip that records stuff like that and can be read by the UPS. Another possibility, is that they "refilled" an old case. The end result was a substandard (but working - and cheap) battery. > How would I know if is the UPS? That fluctuating runtime sounds suspicious - although the load is also fluctuating between 32 and 28 in your examples. Maybe the lower runtime is a consequence of the higher load? Why is your load varying? It might be somet...

...eed/etc. it should be stored somewhere else. Good point. For the DSI panels we have the field hs_rate for the HS clock in struct mipi_dsi_device which is based on exactly this reasoning. And that is what I actually use for setting the HS clock. The problem is however that we in many cases have so substandard documentation of these panels that we have absolutely no idea about the dotclock. Maybe we should just set it to 0 in these cases? Question.
For someone that wants to begin securing his or her network. What would be the starting point ? I guess in sort of a check list format. I mean as of now Im not administering a network. But in the old company I used to work for. Security was a big problem there were no polices in place. And in what ways can one reduce the amount of work it take to keep up with securing and monitoring a diversed

VoIP Phone Recommendations
I'm fairly new to VoIP, and brand-new to Asterisk. I am wondering what are the best/least expensive phones or phone adapters to use with Asterisk, both wired and WiFi. I would appreciate any insight or recommendations you may have. Thanks, James arbaughj@myrealbox.com
