Keeping the traffis on or off the list ?
...the Reply-To goes back to the original poster, not the list.
Many mailing lists encourage the subscribers to "keep the list traffic on the
list", rather than wandering off into private discussions. The nut-upsuser
setup has exactly the opposite effect.
Is it the intention to send the subscibers into private conversation? If not,
and I suspect not, then the current Reply-To looks like a bug.
Any replies to the list please. Roger

Not an OpenSSH Feature Request
I am not going to put my 2 cents in about added features. I just
appreciate the reams of technical support the OpenBSD developers offers us
for the code they give us for free. $400 for an F-Secure license? I have
my OpenSSH T-shirt!
My request will add zero bytes to the OpenSSH code base, not even in the
contribs directory.
Could the subject lines on the mailing list begin with something like

re list
Hi
I am new here and am wondering if I have the correct list to subscibe to.
I am looking for a user forum; technical mutual help/tutorial type
list; would this be that type of thing?
So far the messages I am seeing are mainly intercommunications between
what appear to be developers working on assigned sub-projects of various
flavors of samba.
I don't want to spam a list with

[Not Subcribed] Two-Interface sample file version - 2.0.1
Hello,
I''ve "emerged" Shorewall 2.0.7 onto my Gentoo pc. Going through the 2
interface quickstart guide I download the 2.0.1 interface sample and untar
it.
"tar -zxvf two-interfaces.tgz"
Maybe a dumb question but I can''t find anything on Google or the Shorewall
mail archives that say anything about this. So I''m assuming its me. :P
But the

...(e.g. in .rda files) are problematic. It
is likely that by release time these will be treated as in
Latin-1.
If I am correct, I did not find an answer to this problem.
What are the plans of R gurus on this question ?
Thanks a lot.
Sincerely.
Please add my adress in answers as I am not subsciber of this list.

Use of the "hint" modifiers - examples, anyone?
I have found some references to the "hint" (or HINT?) variable and
method in the source code, but quite a bit of Google-ing has not
turned up any extensive answers as to some real-life examples of how
to use this perhaps very useful tool. I understand the point of the
tool, but I need to get some actual configs to look at before I think
I'll figure it out. Even if my

Thomson ST2030S and BLF
Hello.
Once again, I came up with a problem for which
I can't seem to find a solution.
I'm not able to make BLF work with Thomson ST2030 phones
and Asterisk (1.2.13).
I've set up hints in dialplan, as well as Subscibe keys
on the phone. The LED status gets updated according to
the associated line status.
However, when a phone is ringing, If I try to pickup
the call by pressing the

Cygwin: store authorized_keys in /etc/ssh/user/authorized_keys?
Hi folks,
If I try to login on a Cygwin host via ssh, then my
.ssh on a network drive is unaccessible until I login.
I have to enter my password, even if my authorized_keys
would allow me to login without. This is fatal, since it
forces me to use an interactive session for working on a
Windows host. Unusable for automatic builds and tests
managed from a central machine, for example.

PermitRootLogin proplem
Hi all,
I think that there is a security problem with the PermitRootLogin
option.
I asked an root ssh connection:
$ ssh root at machine
root at machine's password:
I typed no password, this prompt stayed in place.
In a second time, I changed the PermitRootLogin to no, and then restart
ssh server.
Third, I typed the password on the previous prompt, and the access was
allowed.
I then

HTML help index generation problem with R under Windows
Hello,
I am wondering if there has been a solution to the following issue with R
under Windows (see also thread to PR#6662 in this mailing list:
http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/devel/04a/0550.html )
I am using R for teaching students Statistics, so they are working with a
university-wide installation of R. I have compiled an R-library which
contains all the instructions and customised
