Two domains in the same subnetwork.
Hi, I have the following newbie question, it is possible have two (or more) domains in the same IP subnetwork (e.g. 192.168.10.0/24)? I understand that is not possible have two PDC for the same domain in the same subnetwork, but I'm not sure what happens if we have two domains. Thanks for your help. Regards, -- Mauricio Strello C.

pathfindR: An R Package for Pathway Enrichment Analysis Utilizing Active Subnetworks
Hello all, I would like to introduce our group's new bioinformatics package to you: pathfindR <https://cran.r-project.org/package=pathfindR> This tool is designed to improve pathway enrichment analysis by firstly identifying active subnetworksin differential expression/methylation data using a protein-protein interaction network. It then performs pathway enrichment analysis (Over-Representation Analysis). By utilizing the interaction information, the tool identifies most of the involved pathways. pathfindR also creates pathway diagrams w...

Can't get NUT slave to connect to master
Hi thanks Roger, I've amended my hosts.allow file to your suggested one - thanks for that. I'm still getting "Connection refused on the client cgi screen as well as in the shell it gives me UPS upsname at ipaddresshere is unavailable... Any ideas what I can try next to debug why it's not working. Also should the "allowfrom = clientIPaddresshere" line be in my monuser

Hello I''m new to the list. I installed a vserver (http://www.linux-vserver.org/) on my gentoo server As network interface is used an alias (eth1:0) eth1 is the card of my "loc" zone. eth1:0 has an address from the same subnet from the vserver I can connect to eth0 but not to the internet. From my local net everything works fine. I have an entry in "mask" for eth1

Shorewall 1.4.6 Beta 1
Beta 1 is now available at: http://shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/testing ftp://shorewall.net/pub/shorewall/testing This is a minor release of Shorewall. Problems Corrected: 1) A problem seen on RH7.3 systems where Shorewall encountered start errors when started using the "service" mechanism has been worked around. 2) Where a list of IP addresses appears in the DEST column of a

Can't get NUT slave to connect to master
...not working. Being able to ping from A to B does not guarantee that TCP gets through. Can you ssh from slave to master? Are you intending to shut down the slave if wall power fails for the master?, or is it just for administrative access? For general debugging, have you tried sniffing the two subnetworks with tcpdump to see if the slave traffic reaches the master or is blocked elsewhere? If the slave traffic reaches the master, then running upsd with -DDD options might show something. > Also should the "allowfrom = clientIPaddresshere" line be in my monuser > entry in upsd.use...

Help On Multiple Netgroups Across Multiple Subnets
Hello, everyone, I'm new to this mailing list. So please excuse me if this topic has been discussed before. We have a network that consists of a few subnetworks. Each subnetwork has its own network address. In each subnet there are Windows 95/98/NT machines, as well as Linux/Unix machines that run Samba. NO NT Domain is used! I've configured cross-subnetwork browsing by 1. using Samba servers on each subnet as local browse master, 2. using one of th...

DHCP failover ... Some questions.
Hi, I plan to reorganise our IP management and I'd like to implement a slave DHCP server. Right now we assign IP addresses based on the ethernetadress of a client 1:1. The tutorial here [1] is simple and looks like the thing I need. I do have a lot of subnetworks and my cisco router has an DHCP helper address set. I know I'll have to add the second dhcp-server address. My questions now is: Dose the dhcp-slave syncs the dhcp data from the master? Or do I have to copy the data to the master AND slave? Any other sugesstions or comments? Thanks and be...

Two domains on one network?
I feel I should know the answer to this, but I wanted to verify. I have a bunch of Windows PC's running Win 2K Pro, on three subnetworks. Two of the subnets are served by Unix (FreeBSD) boxes running NATD, but all are joined to a domain being run on a Win 2K Pro server in another building on the campus. So far I haven't joined the two Unix boxes to the domain. I'd like to experiment with setting one of the FreeBSD boxes...

NFS exports network mask
Hi, I need to export NFS shares to all clients in a subnetwork, except that one client will have different NFS options. I am not sure how to write subnest mask for this in exports file. For all clients it was easy as all I had to do was 10.0.0.0/16 or 10.0.0.0/255.255.0.0. How do I modify exports file to have special rule/entry for this particular IP? Any pointers on how to do this? -- Thanks,

Bug on cygwin?
When using the cygwin version of rsync for archive ops on a Windows subnetwork in "local" mode as follows: rsync -a xyz //somehost/abc # Source: WinXP, Target: Win2K the correct files seem to be copied to the target machine, but the command never terminates within the cygwin bash shell. It hangs indefinitely, though it does not appear to continue using CPU or memory

Hi, is it possible, to configure one physical samba server to listen on multiple NICs? I have two subnetworks to which I'd like to connect my samba server, but I dont want both networks to "see" each other, so the server should not be a router. The Clients in both networks should see the same serverstructure (Users, Shares,...) Thanks for any hints and tips! cu... ...G?tz -- G?tz Reini...

Locally-loaded syslinux.efi with remote HTTP config?
Question: If syslinux.efi is loaded locally off USB rather than via an EFI PXE option ROM boot, but on a client whose EFI firmware has TCP support, should that locally-booted syslinux.efi be able to process HTTP URLs? Initial experiments indicate "no", but why not? Purpose: My TCP-capable EFI client is on a subnetwork with broken DHCP not under my control, so I can't

Samba vs DHCP
I was using a Samba server under a SUNOS 5.5.1 operative system. This SUN machine was the server of a number of Lynux (Mandrake) and Windows (95,98, XP) computers in a TCP/IP network with fixed IP numbers. We were oblied to change to DHCP recently. As our network has a huge number of computers I am running the smbd and nmbd daemos of the Samba with an identification in such a way that only those

asterisk users
Hi I have a new question. Here the situation : I use softphone on 2 computers (soft1 and soft2) located on the same subnetwork. When I register on asterisk server using soft1 with one user (e.g JOHN) which I declared in sip.conf I can register again with this same user using soft2. Is it normal ? I notice that I can pass some call from both but incoming call for JOHN user only arrive on the last

multi-subneted network browsing problem
...0 boxes in my subnet; also there are several other subnets - 10.105.27.0/27, 10.105.27.96/27, ..., 172.17.51.64/27, ..., 172.17.48.0/26, ... In our network we have one wins server with ip 172.17.48.13 that very likely configured as a domain controller and several domains, that spans across several subnetworks: DOMAIN1, DOMAIN2, DOMAIN3. When I config my samba server not be a local master browser, than all my subnet doesn't have access to local network, because no one other box wants to become a LMB (I've tried to wait about 2 hours). When I config my samba server as a LMB, than I and all boxes...

Shorewall 1.3.14 Beta 1
...that is specified in the SUBNET column of an /etc/shorewall/masq entry, your /etc/shorewall/masq file will need changing. In most cases, you will simply be able to remove redundant entries. In some cases though, you might want to change from using the interface name to listing specific subnetworks if the change described above will cause masquerading to occur on subnetworks that you don''t wish to masquerade. Example 2 -- Suppose that your current config is as follows: [root@gateway test]# cat /etc/shorewall/masq #INTERFACE SUBNET ADDRES...
