...they are being used. There is a command used to create the instance and
then I must edit the config files manually. If I put localhost in the
secondary instance it binds. Postfix is not the problem. They are saying
this is at the OS level which is why I need your help. How do I open the
post for a subinterface ETH0:1 for port 25. If that isn't the solution what
other troubleshooting steps should I take from the OS side as POSTFIX isn't
the issue. It can't hear what it's not being allowed to listen too.

You are not listening on 172.30.1.65 you need to edit the postfix config
to listen on either 0.0.0.0 or both IP's

There must be something else keeping the instance of postfix from listening
on that IP & port. When I set the config to localhost it only sends out
using the main postfix instance and it uses the wrong IP to do so. I'm
thinking something at the CENTOS level. I cannot get the port to open
on 172.30.1.65
regardless of what I try.
Again here is the config I have in /etc/postfix-immt/main.cf.

Hi trish, i have postfix configured to listen on that ip... it's still not
listening.
see below:
# Note: you need to stop/start Postfix when this parameter changes.
#
#inet_interfaces = all
#inet_interfaces = $myhostname
#inet_interfaces = $myhostname, localhost
inet_interfaces = 172.30.1.65
# Enable IPv4, and IPv6 if supported

Interfaces basic question
I have a router with only one physical ethernet cable. I know it''s stupid,
but it is the network I have to use for a demo.
I have in mind to construct an HTB class tree for some network limitations
for the outgoing traffic.
The question is: can i use the HTB class mechanism on 2 subinterfaces of the
same physical network card without any interference?
Please let me know as soon as possible. I need to know if I start working on
this or I have to change the hardware.
Thank you,
Marius

Two winbinds in one machine?
Hi,
I'm switching between two domains, and I need to make a couple of
Linux+Samba machines provide the same shares in both domains. I've set up
two sambas in the same machine, listening on different subinterfaces, but I
can't make winbind to behave properly. As soon as I start the second
winbind, the domain accounts provided by the first one become hidden (that
is, 'getent passwd' only shows the second domain). I found both winbinds use
the same UNIX socket/pipe. I found no way to choose the so...

[Bridge] Transparently bridge Vlans to eth0
...work as a way of preventing
pier to pier communication - I only want nodes in the
network to talk to the gateway (a linux box).
I have successfully set up lots of sub interfaces
using the vconfig too, one for each vlan. What I would
like to be able to do is remove the ip address from
each of these subinterfaces eth0.x and bridge them to
eth0. I have successfully worked through the HOWTO,
but cannot see how to adapt this to my situation.
I want the network to appear to eth0 as if all the
nodes are on the same network - like if I didn't use
any Vlans at all.
Many thanks in aniticipation !

...During install, used the 'Server with GUI' group and added the

3.) During install, set up team0 to include the two gig-e ports set up
active-backup (two switches).
4.) During install, set up three bridges, with the slave devices being
VLANs pointed to the team0 subinterfaces (using VLANs 68, 101, and 302;
101 is to be the management bridge for the host, with guests on all
three VLANs).? So, for instance, bridge101 has a slave that is VLAN101
that points to team0.101 with a VLAN ID of 101.? The bridge101 interface
has a manual IP address, but bridge68 and bridge302...

[Bridge] swithing trunk (tagged 802.1q traffic) with brctl

the Cisco).
I've performed some tests and the behaviour of VLAN in Linux seems to be as
follows: when a tagged packet arrives to the interface, the kernel checks if
there is some matching subinterface (for example, if the packet is tagged
with VLANID=200, a eth2.200 is looked for). In that case, the packet is
deliver (untagged) to that interface, otherwise the packet is discarted (so,
it is never arrives to the bridge).
Is that right? (I've asked this question also in the VLAN support list)...

Distinguish between voice and data call
Hi
I have an Asterisk installation with some SIP and MGPC devices, and I also have a TE410P on a E1 line.
If I make an outside ISDN data call to asterisk the phone rings as usual and if I answer it, I just hear some clicks.
I've read that the D-Channel has information about the call, if its voice or data.
Is it somehow possible to end/ignore this call already before it is ringing?

Max number of Network Aliases?
I know that there is a 3 network interface max for Xen 3.*. But is there a
max number of network aliases?
Since they are all on the same subnet then really it should just bridging
the traffic. Correct? Does anyone have a PV DomU that has more than 3 IP
addresses being used inside it?
Thanks,
Ryan

[Bridge] Bridging vlans...
<I apologize if this arrives twice... I sent it first from an
non-subscribed address, don't know if that'll get to the list or not --JJ>
Hi folks,
I have an implementation question regarding bridging on a linux box between
a catalyst trunk port and a cisco 26something w/802.1q subinterfaces.
So right now, there's no vlan trunking going on on the link my bridging
firewall sits on, but I'm going to need to bridge two vlans, 4 and 51. My
question is this: should the vlan interfaces on the linux firewall be
created first, then bridged; or should the bridge interface be created...
