MFC ZFS: when?
In several of the recent ZFS posts, multiple people have asked when this
will be MFC'd to 7.x. This query has been studiously ignored as other
chatter about whatever ZFS issue is discussed.
So in a post with no other bug report or discussion content to distract us,
when is it intended that ZFS be MFC'd to 7.x?

Vorbis file information.
Hello,
First off, congratulations on the studious work with
Ogg Vorbis. I have just a short question. I'm working on a project that
would like to quickly gather some information about a file encoded with
ogg vorbis. Specifically, the average bitrate and the length of the
stream as a function of seconds. I've read, I think, that there is an
average bitrate stored in the stream

CentOSPlus Kernel for 586?
...(maybe more?) Karnbir might have to tolerate my occasional
short outbursts of humor as they help extend the lifespan of various
pieces of equipment in my little nook. I'll let that go someday when I
have milked it for all I think it's worth. ;-)
5) Additional delay because I'm reading studiously trying to learn
new/updated admin related stuff. It seems that since security became a
concern, the *necessary* bloat to functions is unbelievable (I'd be
afraid to read the estimates of % of budget devoted to security nation-
wide).
6) OTOH (there's always one, eh?) if the walkers-on-wate...

to mark each word separately, which makes for something >200% overhead
with just one word per vector.
You can also do things like change the character set encoding mid-stream,
should that ever make sense. Michael's example was mixed English and
Klingon. (The Unicode Consortium has so far studiously ignored the Klingon
encoding proposal.)
I also think it would be possible to implement some of these features
implicitly by always breaking xml document into ogg packets at the same
level of the document heirarchy. One can also imagine various hacks to
include a psuedo-header, prehaps as a comment...

a proposal regarding documentation
Proposal
That a new mailing list be established
that pertains exclusively to R documentation.
The purpose of the list would be to discuss
weak sections of the documentation and
establish fixes for those weak spots.
Pro
If it works, there would be better documentation.
It would be an excellent opportunity for newish
and/or less technical people to contribute to R.
In some respects such people
