I updated a C5 system to 2.6.18-406.el5 (from 404) and the kvm_intel module doesn't load anymore: # dmesg |grep kvm kvm_intel: disagrees about version of symbol struct_module anyone seeing similarities? -- LF

I used the xensource install script for RHEL4 and after trying to boot on the new kernel the system just continually rebooted. I appended a noreboot to the xen line and now i''m seeing the following... ...So, I upgraded the DomU kernels & ran into issues with mounting devices, and the ext3 module not being available. After a bit of faffing about, I managed to sort this out and load the ext3 module. I have a question regarding the building of the unified xen kernel (linux-2.6-xen) and the use of initrd. In the past I built both xen0 and xenU kernels; the xen0 default configurations had SCSI and Fusion MPT support compiled into the kernel. Now, they are built as modules. The problem is that I am unable to boot the xen kernel built that way, even though I am building an initrd. I have

...problem. The kernel I'm running is 2.6.9-34.ELsmp and I have the kernel-devel-2.6.9-34 RPM installed. I believe the problem is that the modules are being built as if for the uniprocessor kernel (the default for kernel-devel?) leading to the error: zaptel: disagrees about version of symbol struct_module when I try to load the module. I *think* I probably need to grab the kernel sources, take the config file for the SMP kernel from that and drop it into kernel-devel, edit the kernel-devel top-level makefile to get the version name correct and then rebuild the kernel config to get the right kernel...
