trapping keystrokes
Hi all, How do you trap key strobes in centos before they are handed off to an application? In X windows I dont care what app is running or which app has focus. I need to know what key is pressed. The key can still go on to the application that is fine. I just need to know what keys are being pressed. I have tried xbindkeys but depending on which app is running I may or may not get my

Visual ring notification
I have put a pbx into a resort with Polyycom phones, everythign works great, except the kitchen staff cannot hear the phone ring. I know many legacy systems employ a big red flashing light, any ideas on doing something similar? -- Chris Mason NetConcepts (264) 497-5670 Fax: (264) 497-8463 Int: (305) 704-7249 Fax: (815)301-9759 Cell: 264-235-5670 Yahoo IM: netconcepts_anguilla@yahoo.com

Could Linux load average problem be related to smbfs?
This is more a "has anybody seen this?" question than anything else. I'm using smbfs version 2.2.3a-12 on 2.4.18 kernel, Debian 3.0. The other day, I had a problem where df got hung in D state because of smbfs mounting a share, then the PC exposing the share rebooting. (This has happened with smbfs across several versions). umount gave "device is busy" errors, and I

Some ideas about embeding data in ogg files...
Greetings, Name's Jason, I am thinking of some kind of software I can develop as a final project at my school before I graduate. My idea is to make an application that would let people manually enter "beat streams" that can follow along with the music. These "beat streams" how ever they are processed could be used in many ways. Visualizations, strobe lights, mood

How would you recommend I create a new layer of data...
Two parts are marked below... *If anyone remembers, I have been working on a new feature for vorbis. I am creating another piece of data showing non audio interpretation of music to help visual, beat and other aspects of audio that can't be interpreted by a computer but only entered with the human touch. Currently I have a stream of data, nanosecond measurements of key presses on a keyboard,

W2k, SP4 and Domain logon
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all. Yesterday I had the funny idea of upgrading all my Windows 2000 Professional worksations (20 W2k boxes more or less) to SP4. I run Samba 2.2.8a on a glorious RedHat 6.2, and after the endless download-and-reboot I found with no W2K client able to logging in. I skimmed the mail archives, tried a bunch of suggestion from really a lot of

[PATCH 00/15] clk/tegra: improve code and add DFS support
This series adds support for GM20B PLL's Maxwell features, namely glitchless switch and (more importantly) DFS support. DFS lets the PLL lower its output speed according to input current variations, making the clock more stable and allowing it to run safely at lower voltage. All GM20B additions are done in the last patch, which consequently ends up being considerably big ; fortunately, it
