[PATCH] minios: Fix xenbus_rm() calls in frontend drivers
From: Ben Cressey <bcressey@amazon.com> The commit "minios: refactor xenbus state machine" caused "/state" to be appended to the local value of nodename. Previously the nodename variable pointed to dev->nodename. The xenbus_rm() calls were not updated to reflect this change, and refer to paths that do not exist. For example, shutdown_blkfront() for vbd 2049 would

Missed strlen optimizations
Hello, Code: https://godbolt.org/g/EG4Wi6 unsigned fff3(void) { char buf[10] = ""; return strlen(buf); } Since we are memset-ing before strlen call, we could replace strlen with just 0. Has LLVM any API to get "last instruction before strlen" which modifies strlen argument "buf"? So we can check "yes, it is memset there, replace strlen with zero"

SFTP Status Bar..
This is the LAST version I plan on doing.. If I hear no feed back good or bad. Then I'll assume I've wasted my time on a feature that people whine about but don't care to try. This is against 3.0.2pX so it should be VERY easy for anyone to test. - Ben diff -ur openssh-3.0.2p1/misc.c openssh/misc.c --- openssh-3.0.2p1/misc.c Tue Jul 3 23:46:58 2001 +++ openssh/misc.c Wed Feb 6

[PATCH] supporting a remote scp path option in scp
Hi there, I've written some enhancements to scp.c and pathnames.h to enable the scp to arbitrarily set the remote scp path. (eg $ scp -e /usr/bin/scp foo user at bar:foo) I did read the "scp: command not found" FAQ entry but I'm not quite sure why we can't do this, unless it's because enhancements to scp are no longer a priority. Any other reason why it "is the

Subtle bug in do_basename
Hello, I've been wondering why my no-optimization R-devel builds have been hanging during "building/updating package indices ...". I tracked it down with gdb to this line from do_basename in utils.c: while ( *(p = buf + strlen(buf) - 1) == fsp ) *p = '\0'; Now, imagine if your compiler places the variable fsp immediately before buf on the stack, and strlen(buf) is 0.

Quick sftp status indicator.
I think my first send was eaten by elm.. Yuck I hate this programm.. Anyawys, first the disclaimer: This is barely tests, I submit this to the general population, but I will not submit this for review of rest of the OpenSSH team. Mainly because it is horrible at best. dealing with alarm() in a sane way is not fun. It does not compile clean, but works. IF anyone cares to clean it up..

Linux and Samba Code
Here is an executable that would allow a user to change the linux and SMB passwords simultaneously. The website indicated in the comments had some problems in the code, but they are fixed in the cpasswd.c file which is below and also attached. Hope that this helps others. The code is a fix, not a solution. it only works from the command prompt, but it helps with keeping linyx and Samba

Version two of progressbar for scp/sftp
Again, this has been lightly tested. I think there still are a few glitchs. 1. stole progressmeter() from scp.c - clean up and simplified a little to remove the 'flag' status. It now understands how to initialize itself and how to terminate itself. Along with a malloced status bar instead of the original fix width bar. 2. removed all initialization code from scp.c for progressmeter()

[LLVMdev] What happened to "malloc" in LLVM 3.0 IR?
Hello folks, I have a compiler written with LLVM 2.6 by a student that produces .ll files, It behaved fine at the time. Trying to take the work over using version 3.0, I run into the problem that "malloc" in the IR is no longer valid: semac1 menu > llvm-as Carre.ll llvm-as: Carre.ll:68:14: error: expected instruction opcode %_malloc = malloc i8, i32 %2 ;

Function LICM for readonly, nocapture functions
Hey all, I was doing some investigation of LICM and I ran into something that seems a bit odd to me. Suppose I was looking at the following code snippet: #define N 1000 int main() { int B[N]; char A[N]; for(int i=0; i<N; i++) { B[i] = strlen(A); } return B[0]+B[N-1]; } Among other optimizations that I may want to happen, I'd hope that the call to strlen could be

FWD: [patch] scp + UTF-8
Hi, Martijn sent the following patch to me in private and agreed that i post it here. In any other program in OpenBSD base, i'd probably agree with the basic approach. Regarding OpenSSH, however, i worry whether wcwidth(3) can be used. While wcwidth(3) is POSIX, it is not ISO C. Does OpenSSH target platforms that don't provide wcwidth(3)? If so, do you think the problem can be solved
