Weird TZ Behavior in 4.1p1 and 4.3p2 on AIX
...06 13:35:25 username local authentication succeeded
09/12/06 09:36:07 username hostname.xxxxx.com
09/12/06 09:36:12 username authenticating locally
I found that commenting out "environ[0] = NULL;" in pam-auth.c fixed the
TZ problem, but created others.
Any suggestions?

Found a bug, not sure how to report
I was trying to install "The even more incredible machine" on my Hardy Heron.
I popped in the CD and ran it via terminal. I get this message:

UUIDTool and weird timestamp split error
Hi,
I am using UUIDTools to generate my Guids. It works fine on my computer
(Windows Xp), but doesn''t work on my host (TextDrive)
The error is:
Loading production environment.
>> UUID.timestamp_create.to_s
/sbin/ifconfig: Permission denied
NoMethodError: private method `split'' called for nil:NilClass
from ./script/../config/../config/../lib/uuidtools.rb:236:in

OT EXIF libraray
Hi-
this is slightly off topic, but is anyone aware of a WORKING ruby library that reads EXIF data from JPEG files?
It has to run on both Windows and *nix, so wrappers around unix libs won''t do.
So far I tried rexif, ruby-exif (both throwing exceptions when presented with a JPEG) and RMagick (at least able to get the date
from EXIF, however it adds a ''.'' at the end for
