PID file
..._could_ change it in ssh.h but then I'd have to do this every time. Am I best to put in a -DPIDDIR="/etc" or something? Alternatively, would it be easy to change the configure.in stuff to let me do a --pid-dir="/etc" or a --pid-file="/etc/ssh.pid"? pre27 compilation fails on Sol7 box
...f /* !HAVE_STRUCT_SOCKADDR_IN6 */ ---------8<------------------------------------------- which would appear to have the requisite number of semicolons. When I comment out line 30, everything compiles. Any guesses? Can anyone say for certain that it's _not_ ssh's fault? Question about compiled-in entropy gatherer
...conf (plus ca change, eh?!) that seems to have #defined lastlog to be "", rather than leaving it undefined. Nothing untoward seems to have happened due to this but it probably wants sorting. Can someone more qualified in autoconf point me in the direction of the solution? Thanks, Andrew Stribblehill Systems programmer, IT Service, University of Durham, England.

[Script] ssh-add dropping keys when xscreensaver blanks
...ssh-add to drop its keys when it blanked the screen. Would the attached script (which does just that) be worth adding to the contrib directory? It would also be useful to give ssh-agent a facility to drop its keys after some time of inactivity. How easy would this be to implement? ssh_config's Hosts directive
...what a horrible word!) so I presume I have to match on both *.dur.ac.uk and *-without-any-dots-in-it. How do I do this in practice? If ssh is presently not configurable enough to do this, can we extend the functionality of Hosts in some useful but still backward-compatible manner? Question about ssh-add...
Evenin', I would like to know, why "OpenSSH ssh-add" doesn't support the -p (pipe) option of "Ssh-1.2.X shh-add"? I used it several time within scripts, like ./whisperpassphrase | ssh-add -p Well, I know this is some kind of security by obscurity, but this has been proven to be handy. Why does ssh try to run df, netstat, arp ...?
Howdy, I recently had a problem with one of our servers (crashed due to power failure :-). While this shouldn't have been a problem for most of the workstations and servers on the network I noticed that I wasn't able to use ssh anymore. Ssh would simply hang during the connection. rsh and telnet however were able to connect without problem so there was no problem with the destination or

subject: ssh non-intuitive logging setting (priority names). I installed openssh 2.3.0p1 on Solaris 7 for x86 box and sshd worked fine. However, somehow the logging of connection and disconnection to sshd was not recorded as I wished. Time to investigate. On a host where sshd from data-fellows once ran, the log was recorded with auth.info level. After trying to modify sshd_config, I found that

backup server..
Hi, I've been playing with CentOS quite a bit lately (and I must say it's growing on me!! :) and I was now able to convince my boss that we could get a box and gradually start migrating our hosting from win2k3 to centos. So anyway, I've got a new box at the colo ready up and running - P4 3Ghz w/HT 2Ghz RAM 2x70Gb HDD, running Centos4.4 fully up-to-date. Now my two questions are;
