Composing Data from THREE models with Aggregation
...age 324). I''m trying to map three columns to a single Ruby object. However, unlike the example in the Agile Web Development book, the three columns I want to map into one object come from THREE DIFFERENT models. I want to map the following three columns into one object: grade.grade_abbr, strand.strand_abbr, standard.number (ex. 5 NS 2.3). Also, I only need to read the new object--not edit the original columns. Here are the models and their relationships: class Standard belongs_to :strand belongs_to :grade class Strand has_many :standards class Grade has_many :standards Whe...

conditional subset and reorder dataframe rows
Hi List I have a dataframe (~1,200,000 rows deep) and I'd like to conditionally reorder groups of rows in this dataframe. I would like to reorder any rows where the Chr.Strand column contains a '-' but reorder within subsets delineated by the Probe.Set.Name column. # toy example #### library(plyr) negStrandGene <- data.frame(Probe.Set.Name = rep('ENSMUSG00000022174_at', 6), Chr = rep(14,6), Chr.Strand = rep('-', 6), Chr.From = c(54873546, 54...

[nbdkit PATCH] nbd: Properly mop up stranded requests
Nothing in the second loop of nbd_reader() was ever setting quit; the only way the loop could end was via SEGV for dereferencing NULL or abort() when attempting to write to an invalid fd. Finish the implementation to properly mop up stranded in-flight requests. The testsuite did not exercise the case of quitting nbdkit while a transaction was in flight, but was relying on SIGTERM exiting the entire process before all threads were reaped; otherwise, I might have spotted this sooner. list genes w/n a genomic fragment
Hi, is there any package/function in Bioconductor that can do this: if given the chromosome positions of a fragment, find out all genes within, and with the information about which strand is the sense strand. And vice versa. Thanks a lot. ----- Appreciate your time & attention! -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/list-genes-w-n-a-genomic-fragment-tp18331452p18331452.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

how to handle missing values
...simply ignored in the analysis. So far I have not been able to figure out how to deal with missing values in R and have solved the problem by deleting observations with missing values before loading them into R. Can anyone give me a hint on how to do this in a simpler way? build, data and vignettes
Based on some testing it seems to me that if I have a package with a dataset in /data a Sweave vignette in inst/doc (but no associated pdf file) the vignette loads the data in /data through data(dataset) and I do a R CMD build R will try to build the pdf version of the vignette, but will be unable to find the dataset in data because the package is not yet installed. However, if I do

Gnome weather applet stranded
The Gnome weather report applet has ceased working on CentOS5/6. http://weather.noaa.gov/ says "This service is no longer available". Are there any good alternatives? I liked the applet as it allowed the use of a custom radar map. As I just discovered, the weather functionality of the CentOS6 Gnome clock applet was using the same service.

The code for the respective applets is quite different. Mate uses weather.com, but I bet the API is different and a fix requires actual coding.

I'm getting DNS not found errors from anything in NOAA.GOV. anyways, 'climate' refers to historical averages by location/month/week/date. presumably the API involved here was for current weather conditions
