Using other automount maps
Environment: HP-UX 10.20 Samba 1.9.18p10 ; compiled with -DAUTOMOUNT option.
We are using our samba server to mount various automounted directories
including user's home. auto.home map takes care of mounting user's home
automagically but for other directories, I have to put a share name for
each of them (and there are hundreds of them).
Is it possible to define one share name (like

AS/400 - Unix Connectivity
Hi Folks,
I've used Samba in the past for Windows NT - Unix connectivity situations.
I wondered if Samba also supported AS/400 - Unix connectivity, specifically
to allow AS/400 to read/write to a Unix file system...??

Compile Problem (krb5)
I'm trying to build samba 3 with the ads support and along with that I
apparently need ldap and krb5. I have installed openldap, krb5 (had to
install even though Solaris 9 has krb5 in it, the .h file wasn't there that
I could find). Now when building samba I'm getting this error
Compiling libsmb/clifile.c
Compiling libsmb/clikrb5.c
libsmb/clikrb5.c:139:2: #error

No network neighborhood
Recently, we made a switch from 1.9.18 to 2.0.3.
Under 1.9.18, we had local master turned off to prevent a
browser election war. However, under some network configurations,
(where the system was alone on a Workgroup), the system would, quite
appropriately, not appear in the network neighborhood.
So for 2.0.3 we changed the config file to allow election participation
(local master = yes).

Compile Problem with libs
I'm trying to build samba 3 for Solaris 9 and I'm having trouble with the
libraries.
Everything seems to build fine but when I try to run one of the binaries I
get:
ld.so.1: /appl/samba/bin/net: fatal: liblber.so.2: open failed: No such file
or directory
If I add the path for my ldap and gcc libs to my LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment
then I can run the commands and they seem fine but

Samba 3.0.0 -- ACLs are unusable due to UID/SID mapping weirdness :(
Hi,
I am sure somebody asks this question about once a week. Since I have
not found an answer I assume the worst -- it just does not work.
So, here goes my problem. I am testing Samba 3.0.0. I have got UNIX and
Windows domain users matching each other one-to-one. The server is
running with "security = domain". Everything works fine and all Windows
users connecting to Samba get
