Journal size
Is there any way to query the size of an existing journal? I have heard a number of sizes thrown around as defaults, but I need to be able to reliably get the exact journal size. MOre on buring ISOs
So right now I have installed k3b on this notebook. I am using my Storix DVD/CDRW usb drive. I can read cds with it. Cannot burn CDs. First k3b suggests slowing down (from 8x to 4x). Then use TAO. Then it gave up. So I try cdrecord directly. -checkdrive finds some interesting things. Got to close the drive manually; cdrecord says it can't. then try a cdrecord...

ISO burning challenge -- pilgrims progress
First the Storix drive works just fine under DSL 4.2.1 on my Libretto. So the drive is fine, the media is fine. And cdrecord on DSL reports the media to be Manuf. index: 27 Manufacturee: Prodisc Technology Inc. I have all of ONE system with Centos 4 on it. A Trixbox 2.2; I added cdrecord and found that I cou...

Execute custom code when clicking marker
Hello there! :) I''m new to this list and new to Mapstraction. I''m working at ?stfold University College in Norway as part of the Mobile Applications Group (MAG - http://mobapp.hiof.no/) and I''m developing a tool ("Storix") for viewing digital stories with references to time and place. Take a look at http://asia.hiof.no/storix if this sounds interesting (Firefox only at this time). At the moment, I''m in the process of exchanging Google Maps for Mapstraction in Storix. In relation to this, I have some...

Recommendations for a “real RAID" 1 card on Centos box
Hi, I'm considering setting up my Centos Desktop machine for RAID 1. I read a lot of good info at this site:http://linuxmafia.com/faq/Hardware/sata.html#intel-vitesse about differences in fakeraid and real raid cards. The hardware I plan on installing this RAID card into is an Intel DP35DP motherboard with the Intel E4500 dual core processor, and I have two Mator 500 gig SATA hard drives.

Install from a USB CDrom?
OK, this is getting ridiculous. A relatively new HP NC4010 (1 year old). A maybe not the newest Storix USB CD/R-DVD drive. Of course the HP has no problem booting up off the CDrom. But then I get that blasted dialog of where are my install. So I go through the list and find a USB storage driver. It doesn't help. I do have a USB 2.5" drive case that I can put a drive in with the CDs o...

Re: CentOS Digest, Vol 38, Issue 15
...do you think of alternative back up systems, such as a tape backup with bare metal restore software? I'd go that route instead if I could fine a solution which would allow me to restore to different hardware, i.e. if my motherboard dies and I need to buy a different brand or model MB. I know Storix back up software has this capability - I use storix on my Linux server with RAID 1. @ home I have one Linux and one Windows desktop machine. _________________________________________________________________ Connect and share in new ways with Windows Live. http://www.windowslive.com/share.html?oc...
