Advice please - best hardware/config to combine 3 ISPs
I want to build a robust firewall for a resort installation. The
resort''s telephony is entirely VOIP, asterisk based. We have the
following internet feeds:
1) 512/512 kb fixed bandwidth leased line with static IP from Telco-
primary connection, expensive, to use for VOIP, VPN traffic, mail
server, SSH access for remote work. Reliable.
2) 256/512 kb ADSL from Telco, not fixed IP -

connecting - but I cannot descend deeper into directories and cannot
access any file. Here I already turned snoop off so I cannot provide
exactly which path winXP adds to actual path.
I can provide dump to team members, and will glad to provide any

Samba ignores write and read list
Hi everybody,
I have problem with samba and really don't know how to solve it.
Seems as if samba ignored write list and read list options in smb.conf.
Because when I have
writeable = yes
read list = dummy
user dummy can still write/delete. When I try to do it opposite, i.e.
read only = yes
write list = dummy
then dummy cannot write.
The point is, I have bunch of users specified by valid

The public version solely exploits the name server iquery bug,
although it is fairly easy to make it exploit ANY remote vulnerability.
(Put in BSD/Sun exploits and it wouldn't be too linux specific anymore. :&)

True, it will start with a random IP number, then scan sequentially
onwards, e.g....

valid/invalid users problem
Hello,
I have a weird problem with valid/invalid users settings in smb.conf
file. It started when I migrated to another machine and started to use
pam_mysql. I used samba's internal smbpasswd before. The smb.conf stayed
almost the same. But I just don't understand how could pam_mysql cause this.
Without "valid users" in config, I can login with any account present in
my DB

"Secure" tftpd source for Linux?
I''ve been poking around my system, and realized that having a tftp server
would be handy. (I''m working with cisco routers, which have the capability to
up and download configuration images via tftp.)
However, I''m not content with the usual tftpd that comes with Linux. The
whole "specify each directory you want" scheme is cock-eyed to me. I''d
