USB multi-card reader working, finally took the time

"Have you tried putting it into /etc/modprobe.conf (options scsi_mod
max_luns=32) and rebuilding initrd image after that? That's the way I
was doing it so far, and it always worked for me. "
So I then had to learn how to rebuild initrd image. Turns out that is...

Multi-Card reader (SD, MMC, etc) and CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN kernel option in 34.0.2. Workaround
Hi folks,
Im trying to get a multi-card reader on centos (SD, MMC, and so, 4 card
slots) and i have read (http://www.cs.sfu.ca/~ggbaker/personal/cf-linux)
that CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN should be enabled on kernel (=Y) but current
34.0.2 doesn't have it enabled by default, is there any particular
reason to not be enabled?
By the other hand i've also tweak the /etc/grub.conf file to boot the

GSM back door to shell with Centos and Palm handhelds
...ls... but since phone companies are providing
no-cost for certain calls, i found it usefull to get a shell on my palm
to launch certain commands on the host at 0-cost, yes, at 56K, but it's

I was searching for a backup tool simple and easy to use from command

I was using mondoarchive almost succesfully but recently found what i
think i was needing, it's called DAR (http://dar.linux.free.fr/) - i
think im not the first that uses it - anyway, after searching for it

I've noticed since long time ago that all the filters i have preset in
thunderbird on CentOs are not automatically being applied as mail arrives. What

Is there a way to preset it to automatically filter the incomming mail to the

compat-gcc-32-c++-3.2.3-47.3 and 3.3.2 support
Hi all,
4.3/rh release is shipping compat-gcc-32-c++-3.2.3-47.3 which i can see includes
3.2.3 & 3.3.4 support but if i need support for 3.3.2 libstdc++ what should i do?
I've searched for compat pkgs and no one has 3.3.3 support, im wondering if
installing 3.3.2 gcc tools from gnu sources is a good idea or check if 3.3.2 rpm
for this exists.
Is that compat-* pkgs something related to

At the same time, the /var/log/clamav is not updated/created with clamav.clamav
