Multiple logistic regression
Dear R-users,
Is there a function in R that classifies data in more than 2 groups using
logistic regression/classification? I want to compare the c-indices of
earlier research (lrm, binary response variables) with new c-indices
obtained from 'multiple' (more response variables) logistic regression.
Best regards,

Voicemail error
...uishes those that cause the error; tried it with ids containing periods and ones without, and that doesn't seem to be it.
If I login as one of the affected users and try to run VoiceMailMain, I get this:
WARNING[17538]: app_voicemail.c:5006 vm_authenticate: Unable to read password
User "stephany.toman" exhibits this behavior, while "nakya.west" does not. Both are defined exactly that way in sip.conf, with mailbox= their usernames, and entries in voicemail.conf to match.
Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Reshape Columns
Hello,
I have a general formatting question. I have two columns of data:
ColA <- c("m", "m", "m", "m")
ColB<- c("d","d","d","d")
And I would like to reorder them into a new column that looks like this:

How to Label Certain Lags for a PACF Graph
When I use the command for PACF, lags 5, 10, 15, and 20 are labeled. I would
like to label lag 1. I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me how
to do this. Below is the command that I am using:

Predict Fanny Membership
Hello List,
My question is an elementary one. I have run a fuzzy kmeans cluster using
FANNY to group freshwater fish assemblages. I then went in the field to
validate that classification and have retrieved new assemblage data for a
new suite of streams. Therefore I would like to use Predict to determine how
well the original clustering fits the new data. However I have not figured

Placing a Shaded Box on a Plot
Hello,
I would like to place shaded boxes on different areas of a
phylogenetic tree plot. Since I can not determine how to find axes on
the phylogenetic tree plot I am not able to place the box over certain
areas. Below is example code for the shaded box that I have tried to
use, and the first four values specify the position.

Please review Network Virtualization page for Wikipedia
Hi Everyone -
Here is a draft of the first of two "pages" that I will submit to Wikipedia. The first page is a general network virtualization page. From this page, I will contribute a subpage on the Crossbow projects. These two articles are the first of a number of online articles on Crossbow that I''ll be creating on behalf of the Crossbow iteam.

Remove
Hello,
I would like to remove some files which have the extension .test for
example (data1.test, data2.test ....).
Is there another solution to remove them instead of doing it one by one
?
Thanks for your help,

na.rm default
Is there a way to set "na.rm=TRUE" as a default, so that this does not have
to be re-specified for all of the functions requiring this option?
Thanks in advance,

Help with cochran.test
Hi,
I have been trying to use the function cochran.test from the Outliers
package to test for homogeneity of variance. This works well except when
I use transformed data. Would anyone have an idea why it doesn't work
and how I could do the cochran test on transformed data?
Thanks,
Stephanie

# values used in a function in tapply
Hello,
I am using tapply to pull out data by the day of week and then perform
functions (e.g. mean). I would like to have the number of values used for
the calcuation for the functions, sorted by each day of week. A number of
entries in any given column are NAs.
I have tried the following code and simple variants with no luck.
for (i in 1:length(a[1,])){

CentOs 4.X and APF firewall issues
Hi,
We have 7 Dell 2850 servers with dual xeon 3 gig processors running the APF
firewall version 0.9.6 http://rfxnetworks.com/apf.php
They run fine for a day or two, then suddenly lock out all incoming
connections, other than the backend IP, sometimes restarting the firewall
resolves this, but occasionally we may have to leave it 10 mins or so before
restarting where it will actually

importing S3 methods with importFrom
In my own package, I want to use the default S3 method of the generic
function lrtest() from the lmtest package. Since I need only one

How to test impact of candidate changes to package?
I use a package to contain simple functions that can be handled by unit tests for correctness and more complex functions that combine the simple functions with business logic. Where there are proposals to change either the simple functions or the business logic, a sample needs to be run before the change and then after it to understand the impact of the change.
I do this currently by

Bad exit code?
Hi all,
I''m running puppet agent as a onetime process. I would expect, if it can''t create the pid file, that it would exit non-zero. However, it seems to exit zero. Is there any way to change this? I''d like to know if it couldn''t run, and it seems that this is an error.

rms plot.Predict question: swapping x- and y- axis for categorical predictors
Hello all,
I'm trying to plot the effects of variables estimated by a regression model
fit individually, and for categorical predictors, the independent variable
shows up on the y-axis, with the dependent variable on the x-axis. Is there
a way to prevent this reversal?
Sample code with dummy data:
# make dummy data
set.seed(1)
x1 <- runif(200)
x2 <- sample(c(1,2),200, TRUE)

jagged array (matrices of different dimensions)
Dear all,
I am having trouble creating a "jagged array" in R. I have found no commentary on how to do it in the help files, but maybe I am misunderstanding the purpose of some of the array functions (e.g. tapply).
I am using a longitudinal dataset where each individual has a different number of time points (observations). I need to create correlation structures for each
