can't connect to a samba share with Windows XP
Hi all,
I am having problems with using XP Pro to connect to a samba share.
All I get from XP are repated dialogs asking for my username and password.
My linux box has been joined to the local windows domain.
I am using encrypted passwords and the security level is set to user.
If I set the log level to 10 I can see that LM and NT4 MD password checks failed on the challenge
returned by the XP

authorized_keys file.
While this was documented as a restriction in F-Secure SSH, in
practice this was not enforced. OpenSSH does enforce this

Password server and account lockout
I'm using an NT domain which I don't administer as a password
server for two samba servers I run, and I'm running into a problem
with accounts getting locked out for invalid passwords. Looking at
the server_validate function in password.c, I see that this (the bad
passwords) is deliberate - an attempt to detect a security hole in NT,
but this is causing a lot of problems when

Problems running apps from Samba 2.0.0 share on NT 4.0
Ever since I upgraded from Samba 1.9.18 to 2.0.0, I've been
having problems with applications started from a Samba share dying
silently, or with an Illegal Instruction message, on NT 4.0
Workstation. Since the only configuration change has been the Samba
upgrade, that would seem to be the orgin of the problem. Below is my
smb.conf file, in case I have something configured (or not configured)

I'm having a couple of problems getting samba to process
