test for difference between non-independent correlations
...ars in both correlations
the correlation coefficients will be non-independent.
(so you cannot use a Z test like you would for
comparing independent correlation coefficients, I think).
I have read that there is a test for comparing
non-independent correlation coefficients, by
EJ Williams (1959) and Steiger.
There is also a test called Hotelling's t test.
I'm wondering does anyone know whether I can
somehow carry out any of these using an R package, or compare
non-independent correlations using R by some
other method?
I will greatly appreciate any help,
thankyou,

Comparing the correlations coefficient of two (very) dependent samples
Hello all,
I believe this can be done using bootstrap, but I am wondering if there is
some other way that might be used to tackle this.
#Let's say I have two pairs of samples:
set.seed(100)
s1 <- rnorm(100)
s2 <- s1 + rnorm(100)
x1 <- s1[1:99]
y1 <- s2[1:99]
x2 <- x1
y2 <- s2[2:100]
#And both yield the following two correlations:
cor(x1,y1) # 0.7568969 (cor1)
cor(x2,y2)

if you're on Linux, then:
$ ldd icecast
hould list libcrypt as part of the linked libraries.
If this is not the case then crypt support was not activat...

Encrypted password problem with icecast 1.3.11
Hi All,
I have recently downloaded and compiled IceCast 1.3.11 with the crypt option
turned on. Once I did this I have not been able to access the ADMIN console
through telnet. I got the latest version of mkpasswd from CVS and compiled
it. I have included the encrypted version of the password into the
configuration file and then started icecast.
Am I doing something wrong? One thing that

a nice tool
Have you checked out the Zelig package for Windows? It simplifies
using R for those who are less than enthusiastic about the using a
command line environment. It is a framework for using the underlying R
packages already existing. The manual has a nice appendix on getting
up to speed in R.
Check it out at http://gking.harvard.edu/zelig/ or download from
CRAN.
