Mixed-effects model for overdispersed count data?
Hi,
I have to analyse the number of provisioning trips to nestlings according to a number of biological and environmental factors. I was thinking of building a mixed-effects model with species and nestid as random effects, using a Poisson distribution, but the data are overdispersed (variance/mean = 5). I then thought of using a mixed-effects model with negative binomial distribution, but I have

SE of parameter estimates in glmm.admb
Dear R users,
Does anyone know how to get standard errors of the
parameter estimates in glmm.admb?
Thanks,

fixed effect significance_NB mixed models_further pursuit
...ion of how to calculate fixed-effect parameter standard
errors for glmm.admb-generated models, has been posed, but only
partially answered, several times on the aforementioned list servs
(e.g., R-help list serv: H. Skaug, 25 Feb 06).
I know that, using the glmm.admb package, I could call:
m$stdbeta
to obtain the standard deviations of the fixed effect estimates.
However, this is insufficient for calculating Wald statistics or even
for generating confidence intervals, as both require standard errors,
not standard deviations.
