mlogit and model-based recursive partitioning
...e partition (using mob from package
party; thanks Achim and colleagues) a data set based on a multinomial logit
model (using mlogit from package mlogit; thanks Yves)?
I attempted to do so, but there are at least two reasons why I could not.
First, in mob I am not quite sure that a model of class StatModel exists for
mlogit models. Second, as mlogit uses the pipe character | to specify the
model, I wonder how this would interact with mob which uses pipe to
differentiate between explanatory and segmentation variables.
An example (not working) of what I would like to accomplish follows below.

Equivalent to Full Information Maximum Likelihood (FIML) in R?

these?
If you are unfamiliar with Mplus' FIML below is a link to their manual.
Their estimation technology is discussed on page 25. I have asked the
developer of the mvnmle and he was unsure if this package similar.

FIML in R
Does anyone know if someone is developing full-information maximum likelihood (FIML) estimation algorithms for basic regression functions, like glm()? I think that having FIML options for workhorse functions that typically use ML would give R an edge over other statistical software, given how well FIML performs in missing data situations compared to ML.
While my current level of programming

mob (party package) question
Dear useRs:
I try to use mob from the party package (thanks Achim and Co.!) to model
based recursive partition a data set. The model is a logistic regression
specified with model=glinearModel and family=binomial(). Running mob
results in a few warnings of the type: In glm.fit ... algorithm did not
converge. As I speculate that this may be due to an insufficient number of
iterations I am

Structural Equation Model
Hello all!
I want to estimate parameters in a MIMIC model. I have one latent
variable (ksi), four reflexive indicators (y1, y2, y3 and y4) and four
formative indicators (x1, x2, x3, x4). Is there a way to do it in R? I
know there is the SEM library, but it seems not to be possible to
specify formative indicators, that is, observed exogenous variables
which causes the latent variable.
Thanks,

CRAN (and crantastic) updates this week
...el Hallquist
http://crantastic.org/packages/MplusAutomation
The MplusAutomation package leverages the flexibility of the R
language to automate latent variable model estimation and
interpretation using Mplus, a powerful latent variable modeling
program developed by Muthen and Muthen (www.statmodel.com).
Specifically, MplusAutomation provides routines for creating related
groups of models, running batches of models, and extracting and
tabulating model parameters and fit statistics.
