Ah. Don't be scared. This is actually -correct- when using RTC. Let me
demonstrate:
[root@dhcp5 zaptel]# ./zttest -v
Opened pseudo zap interface, measuring accuracy...
8192 samples in 8195 sample intervals 99.963379%

Wildcard X100P Choppy Sound and Chipmonk Recordings
Hello,
I recently purchased a Wildcard X100P FXO Card primarily as a learning tool
and to provide myself with voicemail and a few other perks that are better
than an answering machine.
I followed the setup in the FAQ, and it works, just not well. The sound is
very choppy and staticy whenever a call is placed. Sometimes it clears up,
and sometimes it degrades very badly. I also recently tested recording
voicemail using just the demo voicemail box 1234. When I went to play back
the WAV, I sounded like a Chipmonk and then it locked up XMMS.
I've read a number of message...

MOH - White noise, static
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi all,
I am using a TDM40B, and have managed to compile mpg123 and turned on
MOH. Problem I am having is that it is choppy, staticy, and sounds
like white noise pretty much. I have search the archives to see if
this problem had been resolved, but I haven't found anything yet.
Has anyone had this problem and resolved it? I am calling from
analog device to analog device, using call parking.
Suggestions? Using the newest...

ztdummy/rtc
Hello,
Maybe I'm missing something here. What is the proper way to use RTC
with ztdummy now?
I'm using -HEAD from a day or two ago on Linux 2.6.11.11.
In zaptel/Makefile, I changed CFLAGS to:
CFLAGS+=-I. -O4 -g -Wall -DBUILDING_TONEZONE -DUSE_RTC
#-DTONEZONE_DRIVER
and I get..
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.11.11/build SUBDIRS=/usr/src/zaptel modules

Sipura g729 call quality to PSTN
If this has been covered before - I appologize.
We use some Sipura SPA-2000's with the g711 codec and all seems fine
(except for the occasional failure to register errors in my asterisk
logs - but I will save that for another post).
g711 call quality is on par with our Cisco 7960's. However, when
using the g729 codec, the call quality on the Sipura device goes
downhill on the PSTN side

Major problems with TDM400 and specific telephones: suggestions?
...t is far from consistent. For example,
right now the cordless phone is in port 1. However, I've gotten two Ouch
errors, one for 0 and one for 1, and I've gotten three Power alarm errors,
two for module 2 and one for module 1.
After an error, channels on the the board often become very staticy. I
believe that this only happens after a Power alarm, not after an Ouch
error. In fact, I am pretty (but not completely) sure that after an Ouch
error the board (or at least individual channels that are reset) clears
up. Also, not just the channel that have had an error is affected:
