Printing from Windows is printing PS commands instead of job!
...ows is printed as PS commands instead of the actual output. Yes, I'm using the Adobe PS drivers, but the Postscript Imager driver in Windows XP does the same thing. I have debugging turned on in CUPS and I believe the problem whilttles down to this line: D [15/Jan/2005:18:06:01 -0600] StartJob: envp[9]="CONTENT_TYPE=application/vnd.cups-raw" So, CUPS is thinking this is raw output - no wonder it's not filtering it appropriately. What I can't seem to figure out is, why? Why isn't CUPS seeing the job as a PS job? I've looked at the file itself and it seems...

Printing Errors
I've been running RedHat 5.0 and Samba flawlessly for over 6 months now. I had to reboot the server and now I can't seem to print. When I use the "Printtool" to send a test text or postscript job to the printer, I get the following error: Unable to print to HP4000 Error Message: lpr: connect: no such file or directory jobs queued, but cannot start daemon The printer is set up

...ge_log" file always takes the "1" value but the printer prints the correct number of copies. When I do the same on Linux (with the lpr command), the number of copies appearing in the log is correct. When I take a look in the "error_log" file, I see the following line : StartJob: argv = "hp6mp","30","ngomes","smbprn.00000069 test - Bloc-notes","1","","/var/spool/cups/d00030-001" That's for the document printed from Windows. And for the document printed directly from Linux I see : StartJob: argv...

Printing not working after upgrading to 3.0.4
I had been running Samba to share my HP printer among my Windows XP clients. When I upgraded to 3.0.4, I can no longer print. When I start the print job in Windows XP, the printer lights blinks for a few seconds, and then stops. No pages come out. The print job is shown as complete in the CUPS web intrface. Printing from the Linux box works just fine. I read the Samba pages concerning

Printing with CUPS and PDF
Trying to get one Samba server to serve several printers through CUPS and host a virtual PDF "printer" at the same time. I've gotten them working separately, but not together, and I think I know why. In the smb.conf man page under "print command": "With printing = cups, and if SAMBA is compiled against libcups, any manually set print command will be ignored."
