[PATCH/RFC] Modifying reassociate for improved CSE: fairly large perf gains
...euristic algorithm to augment reassociate to do this and tested it.
First, before the details, the results: on a large offline test suite of graphics shaders it cut down total instruction count by ~0.9% (!) and float math instruction count by 1.5% (!). I ran it on SPEC out of curiosity and the one standout was that with fast-math, it cut down 470.lbm by ~6% runtime (see Note 1 at the bottom for the probable reason why). Not coincidentally, this is probably the SPEC program that looks most like a graphics shader.
Here’s how it works:
1. Do reassociate once as normal. Keep track of the linear chains...

trying to make cmusieve happen globally
...les are not being accessed at
all. I've read documents http://wiki1.dovecot.org/LDA/Sieve and
http://wiki1.dovecot.org/LDA/Sieve/CMU to come up with this. But it
just doesn't seem to be happening. So I guess it is a good thing I've
broken my testing down into smaller units. Anything standout that I
misinterpreted about the documentation? If not, I can post the whole
config files (in case there is a conflict with something else I have
done).
FYI, I'm only trying to do a global sieve, not per-user sieve scripts.
I'll tackle per-user stuff at a later date, after the global is

Load Average ~0.40 when idle
I am running CentOS 5 on a dual-dual-core Intel machine, and I am seeing
a load average of between 0.35 and 0.50 while the machine is idle, i.e.
no processes appear to be running.
Both top and uptime report the same thing. Looking at top, I cannot see
any processes that are using CPU time except for top and init, and they are
not using enough cycles to push up the load average.

Markdown and Wikis
I would like to have a wiki that uses Markdown as the markup
language (or something very close), I've currently used PmWiki
and I really like it but there are some problems with using
Markdown so I'm interested to see if there is an alternative
that works better for me.
I've looked at wiki matrix and searched for and found the

Rich text editor?
Hi all,
would you recommend something to integrate rich text editor capabilities
in a Rails app?
I am currently looking at integrating Zoho Writer since it''s got so many
features, but I was wondering whether somebody here knows of some gems
or whatever that they would recommend for this kind of requirement.
Thanks a lot in advance

Help with levelplot color assignment in lattice
Dear R users,
I'm currently trying to make level plots of a longitudinal study of the
spatio-temporal spread of a plant disease in a field, but the results of the
color key assignment isn't what I expect.
Here's more info. I recorded the level of a disease on an ordinal scale from
0 (no disease) to 9 (dead plant) on a grid that has 9 rows and 14 columns.
The disease level on each

100 columns indicating different variables and identifiers).
In mlogit I tried the following
