http slow transfer
...ed a very strange issue.
I've converted a CentOS Live ISO to PXE, and I'm using lpxelinux.0 to boot
it.
Without any HTTP method in the lines, the files are transferring without
any problems, but as soon as I use http, all the transferring action is
super slow - 5-8 times slower compared to stanard TFTP/UDP transfer (with
the same lpxelinux.0)
Here are the lines from my pxelinux.cfg/default file:
label centos-live
kernel http://pxe/nas/cent7live/boot/vmlinuz0
append rootflags=loop initrd=http://pxe/nas/cent7live/boot/initrd0.img

sieve vacation script exclude based on sender email address
I thought I'd asked this question a few years ago but can't seem to find any eveidence of that so
here goes.
I've been looking at the sieve docs and recipes, done a lot of googling but no joy so far.
Using stanard vacation script and that works great, however I want to exclude certain sender
email addressess from ever receiving a vacation autoresponse, how do I go about adding that to
my existing vacation recipe.
I suspect my search terminology is what is causing me not to find anything as I typically am...

I don't know much about lpxelinux technology, so I can't help you, but
usually the first step is taking a packet capture, see
http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/Debugging. Looking into the dump
may provide clues. The other thing is t...

perl-Nagios-Plugin-0.35-1.el5.rf.noarch from rpmforge: dependency problem

> You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

I do not see how to get this fixed; enabling rpmforge-extras and
rpmforge-testing did not work (no /usr/local/bin/perl there), and
symlinking /usr/local/bin/perl to stanard perl did not work either.
I run into this problem on CentOS5 and 6, the latter both in 32bit and
64bit. And I do not find any hint on Google. Am I the only one to use
this package? :-)
Any hint or help is appreciated.

The cited discussion is useful even though the topic is still difficult
for me. I am in Spain and in a Spanish locale. Mac preferences take...

Cannot rake migrate on OS X After New Install, Tons of Debugging
I''m getting ready to go to the Rails Studio in Pasadena next week. As
part of the prep for that event, I was instructed by the Pragmatic
guys to download and install a new Rails 1.0/Ruby 1.8.4 configuration
to my OS X 10.4.4 box. I did that three or four days ago. Ever since
then, I cannot run a rake migrate command successfully anywhere in my
Rails world. (Mind you,

[OT] Memory Models and Multi/Virtual-Cores -- WAS: 4.0 -> 4.1 update failing
...for even IA-32e
(EM64T) are _very_proprietary_. IBM is partially doing the same
with Power in a microelectronics offering, but it is _not_ the
same in its branded Power solutions (among others).
So it's not going to solve vendors who require firmware and
data organization that is not open and stanardized. We're
fine on legacy Win32 platforms, but it's not going to address
Mactel, nor solve the problem of existing OSes that don't run
under current virtualization solutions because of such
proprietary requirements.

Kerberos Keytab Code Update in 3.0.23
First thing - I'd like to say a big "THANK YOU" to the developers.
I just upgraded to samba-3.0.23 and I've noticed an alarming issue with
respect to my configuration.
I've been using the built-in keytab management and it looks like the updated
code no longer creates the userPrincipal in Active Directory.
Whether this is an issue for others or not, it would be nice to have
