DB Modelling the Rails way - Opinions??
Hi, I''m trying to figure the most efficient way to model the following. I can think of at least two ways to relate the tables but from a client/server perspective! I''m wondering how to best (and elegantly)relate them from an AR perspective. A project has many people, A person can work on many projects at any time, A project has many roles, A role is performed by a person, A

To Chris Hall - Re: DB Modelling the Rails way - Opinions??
.....can an organisation have the same roles as a person? i would assume that organisations have different roles than people so you will want to setup a separate "org roles" table to manage those. can an organisation be involved in many projects and can a project have many organisations (stakeholders)? if so, then i would setup another join table between organisations/projects/org roles and follow the same idea as above now, one thing i would be concerned about is corss referencing (not sure the proper term). you have people associated with projects, organisations assocated with projects...

libLTO C API stability policy
...elaxing the stability concern and design a policy for this API that would allow to deprecate and remove some the APIs exposed here. The MacOS linker (ld64) is one the users of libLTO, but there are others (Sony? Qualcomm? Anyone else?) that I think are also targeting this API. I’d like to identify stakeholders so that we can establish a new policy that would accomodate everyone as much as possible. So if you care about the libLTO C API, please speak-up! Thanks, — Mehdi

n-way joins
Hi, I''m somewhat of a Rails newbie and am trying to understand how to formulate n-way (3 or 4 way) joins in Rails (where the join tables contain extra data as well.) Let me give you my basic entities: foos id - pk name - unique bars id - pk name - unique bazs id - pk name - unique frozs id - pk name - unique then i have two separate join tables: foos_bars_bazs - 3 way join

This will be achieved through a multi-step release strategy in which the release process is conducted in a manner that stakeholders have input, and ample time to migrate their respective information into the new system. The advantage of this approach is that all stakeholders will have an opportunity to make their data up-to-date and only migrate what is relavant and known during the process. Reusing story snippets
I find myself doing this: Scenario "logged in user visiting the home page" do Given "A logged in user" do a_logged_in_user end When "..." Then "..." end The a_logged_in_user method is a helper method in helper.rb which sets up the state so that the user can browse the website. Later in the story of course, I can just do ''Given

Discourse category for the AMDGPU target
Hi all, We’ve been having discussions over the last few weeks with stakeholders both inside and outside of AMD about where we could best have a dedicated and open discussion space for topics around the AMDGPU target. The conclusion was that we’d like to try the use of a category in the LLVM Discourse group, which is mostly used for MLIR discussion so far. I have started a Dis...

Locking out users from certain records/urls
I am using the standard login controller that ships with RoR to authenticate users in my application. In my app, Users belong to Clients, Clients have Projects that users are assigned to (stored in a stakeholder table with user_id and project_id columns) , then each project has a bunch of folders and assets (file uploads). So currently I have urls that look like /project/show/12 etc. I want

If the conversion changes the SHA1 of commits (and i...

Run R script automatically each morning and email results?
...and combine it with up-to-date temperature data from the web. This is a baby step in automated surveillance of the relationship between temperature and mortality in our area. The next step is to have this code run automatically every morning at 8:00am, and to email the resulting plot to a few key stakeholders. Can anyone recommend how I might accomplish this? Either in R, or some other user-friendlish solution? Many thanks, Sarah [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

The "build files" are the Makefiles, right? And Dan's proposal will not make the cmake build any faster. So those goals are

I wanted to parallelize more work in LLDB, which has it's own non-nestable task execution model. It involved creating individual tasks, rather than describing the iteration requested, so I put together my own para...
