libsieve support
Hi,
I was wondering - are there any plans on switching the sieve plug-in to use
libsieve (http://libsieve.sourceforge.net/)? The rationale of using this
library is simple - cmusieve codebase seems stagnant and libsieve promises to
implement some new sieve rfc drafts.

Branches
...;t have these anti-modification
features. (Right?)
* The 1.0-gnutls branch lets gnutls take care of encryption for the
TCP connection. I'm confident this is secure.
* The 2.0 branch appears to be all reorganized but not functional
yet. A couple recent changes.
* POKEY and pre4-cube are stagnant.
My guess is that the 1.0-gnutls branch is going to be merged into
trunk sometime soon? Will 2.0 be using gnutls?

Cisco, Sip, Linux, ISDN
...eanest solution, I'd make my firewall also be the asterisk server, and
hopefully gain some control of tcp flows that way to more highly
prioritize voice traffic
+apparent simplicity, maybe fax support
-s it seems most of the ISDN cards in isdn4linux are not sold in the US,
the technology is stagnant, and I'm less than enthused about statements
like "Any CAPI based ISDN card will work" when I'd prefer something like
ISDN card XXX tested on an opteron running kernel X.Y.Z, using
multi-link ppp and and asterisk, no problems....
Any thoughts, sample configurations, other idea...

SMP goes away after installworld (4.8-STABLE)
Hello,
I installed 4.8-RELEASE a few weeks ago, and since I let
the effort sit stagnant for a while I decided to do the
cvsup/buildworld/buildkernel/installkernel/installworld/mergemaster/MAKEDEV
steps to get current.
Went fine, rebooted, then noticed that just one CPU was recognized:

Seriously, the lack of current news on the website must have a turning-away effect for curious folks checking www.iccast.org out. There's a recent post from 18 days ago, but there was a "no news" dry spell between August 7 2001 and April 10 2002! During this time...

I haven't heard of anyone working on it. I thought that
qtcomponents has been stagnant for a while.

sftp-server only in subdir possible?
I'm searching for a simple solution to allow access to only one

Issue with Hamlet ISDN PCI card(Cologne Chipset)
Hi everybody
I have installed a TrixBox with Asterisk 1.2.14 and relative upgreaded
software.
I Bristuffed it with last version of bristuff to use a Hemlet PCI ISDN CARD
in a normal Italian EUROISDN installation. The * works fine except for the
ISDN CARD. It is always Channel D down, but if a Call comes in, it works
perfectly for some time, both inbound and outbound. It prompts Channel D UP!

flac ogg quicktime iTunes
Hello,
I'm going to start by asking something that has probably been asked
before (although I didn't see it on the lists at sourceforge). Is
anyone working on getting iTunes to work with flac?
I'm bouncing around a few ideas and it seems like the logical approach
would be to write a quicktime component using this project as a base

Subject: VP3 Is Here
Hi,
Sorry for the delay; I sort of went stagnant on multimedia hacking
for the past 2 months. But I have been working hard for the past few days
to finish up the new VP3 decoder and it is (almost) ready to go. Here are
some outstanding issues:
* I can not make it play nicely with ffmpeg (I do my development and
testing in xine). When I hook it u...

Is Phusion Passenger (mod_rails) good for single app servers
There is a lot of hype over mod_rails, but from my understanding it is
more geared for servers with a number of apps on it. The reason it
seems that way is how it frees up the memory if an app is stagnant for
an extended period. The freeing up of the memory may not be an issue if
the application gets a continuous traffic flow.
I have a site that I will be putting up in a couple days and am
wondering if mod_rails is the way to go, or if I should stick with
mongrel.
Thanks for the input.

[LLVMdev] Scheme + LLVM JIT
...incidence
he mentioned that they were switching to LLVM for their PLT Scheme
JIT project. I had evaluated LLVM a few weeks ago for my own purposes,
but decided that it was too C/C++ centered and that critical features
such as tail call optimization and other stack manipulation features
were likely stagnant. So naturally I asked Alex about tail calls:
"LLVM? What are you going to do about tail calls?"
He replied that they would likely be supported soon and he pointed
me to this discussion. Naturally, this has rekindled my interest in
LLVM.
So what's the ETA for tail calls?
Thanks....

ZFS extended ACL
What is wrong with this?
# chmod -R A+user:webservd:add_file/write_data/execute:allow /var/apache
chmod: invalid mode: `A+user:webservd:add_file/write_data/execute:allow''
Try `chmod --help'' for more information.
This works in a zone, works on S10u5, does not work on OpenSolaris2008.11.

Branches (again)
A long long time ago, I asked about the different tinc branches.
Guus, you said at the time that
* trunk is 1.0, bugfixes only
* 1.0-gnutls, POKEY, and pre4-cube are stagnant
* 2.0 is where new work should happen...at the time, it didn't
compile, and it appears it still doesn't
This answer discouraged me; I have trouble getting excited about new
work in a branch that's been around for a long time but still doesn't
build, much less incorporate all...

Collective development and troubleshooting make Linux both a nimble
