stably updating the SD
Hi, I have some summary data from which I know a few points and I'd like to remove them. Does anyone know if there is an R module that implements something like Hanson (1975)? Hanson (1975). Stably updating mean and standard deviation of data. Communications of the ACM, 18(1), 57-58.

"CV" for log normal data
...NA. Because of the nature of log ratios, coefficient of variation (CV) doesn't really apply to this kind of data due to the fact that mean of log ratio is very close to 0. What kind of measurements would people use to measure the dispersion so that I can compare across genes on the chip to find stably expressed genes? something similar to CV would be easily interpreted? Icecast 2.5 release
Hello! I see that version 2.5 is still in beta2, with very interesting features for me (like improved support for TLS). Does anyone know when it will be launched stably? Any estimated date? Dom0 and Domu sharing a physical IRQ results in eventual crash
...xen machine where dom0 libata and pcibacked domU eth0 share a physical IRQ. I thought that the disk was bad (cause the system was crashing and giveing me disk errors) and replaced it with an IDE disk connected to a pcibacked SATA-IDE combo card. Problem seems to have gone away. The machine runs stably and hasn''t crashed yet. Now I have another machine where I pciback usb. The usb port in domU shares a physical irq with the dom0 libata. The machine crashes every few hours with disk errors. In the domU, I see usb related errors as well (usblp removed, etc.). Is there anyway to preve...

[LLVMdev] Any known-reliable numbering scheme for basic blocks?
Hi all, Does anyone know of a good solution to the following? I'm trying to find a good way to stably associate distinct ID numbers with different BB in a module. As long as the module's IR hasn't changed in any way whatsoever, I'd like to be guaranteed to always generate the same ID <--> BB mapping. Or if the mapping is ambiguous, because two or more mappings between BB's an...

Re: [nut-commits] svn commit r801 - in branches/megatec-usb: . drivers
Hi Alexander, thanks for your good work on the megatec_usb driver. I have made a few more (cosmetic) changes. Is the driver now working stably for your device? In particular, do the instant commands (and particularly "upsdrvctl -k") work properly? In this case, we could hopefully mark the device as "supported" and merge the driver to the main branch. There is still the question of whether to keep separate code for A...

connecton reset by peer - socket problem
...slow, or saying that the lan is busy, or cannot connect at all. then, in the samba, i'll see the log saying that "error on writing 4 bytes to socket 5 (or 6), connection reset by peer, exit now...". and, the samba does not seem to be visible on the "network neighbourhood" stably. i have specifically written a statement of "allow hosts = 192.168.0. (followed with the real ips for the win nt/2k)" in the config file. i'm very much annoyed by this. pls pls pls help to point out what have i done wrong

Time ISR: Time went backwards: ... (dom0)
...39;'s are replaced with different numbers each time. I have a feeling that this has something to do with xen on a dual core, has anybody had the same problem and been able to fix it? Any help would be greatly apppreciated, currently we are testing out a few configurations to get xen running stably for larger scale deployment. Thanks! Hey everyone, I'm trying version 1.0rc2, via the rpm at ATrpms. I'm running on CentOS 4.3 on an Opteron system. I have this running stably on a 32 bit system, but I'm crashing constantly on a 64 bit system. bug: icecast2 crashing often
we used icecast2 for vorbis streaming 7days 24h for live streaming. we had problems with the stability. it crashed two times completly and I had to restart the icecast2 server often. sometimes it was not possible to receive the stream (player just waitung forever to receive some data), sometimes it was not possible to send the stream and sometimes no stream was send, but the old one was still in

MacBook Pro Yonah (Intel Core Duo)
Dear all; Has anyone tried the new CPU (codename Yonah) produced by Apple? I heard from the engineer of Apple that MacBook Pro is already reachable, although it is not distributed to the public until February. If anyone has some information, I would like to buy it to enlarge the frontier. -- Does Yonah demand xen/i86 or xen/ppc? Or we need brand-new source code? That is the problem. Is

Dynamic Link Aggregation via Samba
Hi, I have run into the following I bonded 6 NICs on my Cent OS server into a 600MB pipe. I use bond method 4 = dynamic Link aggregation. My Cysco Switch supports this apparently. However I only get increased bandwidth from my MAC by connecting via AFP. However when I connect via SMB I don't. I was told to change the sockect options to the following on my smb.conf file on my fileserver:

[LLVMdev] Proposing a new 'alloca' parameter attribute to implement the Microsoft C++ ABI

This is something that can be made to work and guaranteed (barring some seriously misguided behavior from Microsoft) to continue to work stably. Furthermore, by providing and controlling its own Windows C++ ABI: Clang can possibly offer something that MSVC *cannot* (and does not even try to do): a development platform and ecosystem which provides a stable-over-time C++ ABI and consistent cross-module usage of RTTI, STL, C++ memory managem...

Hype The Time Quest Regression
...frozen that way in the next stable. So I hope you guys put it back before 1.4 is released. Note: Wine has never been able to show the pre-game videos in Hype. But it did get the actual game running quite well. When I showed a friend the game working in Wine he said that Wine was running Hype more stably than one of the Windows versions did. Casting a fire spell crashed that Windows version he was talking about (95?), but Wine handled it. And I did have the 1.4 Gecko installed when I was doing this. So...helpful details....
