fsh
Some people suggested fsh as a way of speeding up a build system which
sshes to different hosts to run jobs in parallel. fsh is very handy
but it works by keeping open a *single* connection. It won't work if
you want to execute more than one command in parallel on the same
host.

ssh-keysign bug?
I use ssh in a batch environment (www.pbspro.com) and am using host based
authentication to allow sshes between some resources. When I converted from
openssh 3.1 to newer versions (up to an including 3.8 where ssh-keysign was
moved to a standalone binary) I had issues with ssh-keysign failing with the
error "bad fd". A little exploring showed that this was happening because

How to connect two Asterisks as secure as po ssiblewithout too much additional bandwidth ?
...affic to a reliable SMTP server since my ISP blocks all
traffic incoming/outgoing on port 25.

You could use the same exact thing with an SSH tunnel. In fact, we've done
VoIP over SSH using a Linux NAT box. The SIP adapter connects locally to a
box which SSHes to the SIP server where the unencrypted connection is made
locally. So from the EU to the server is all encrypted.

rsyncd.conf without --daemon?
Hello all,
I'm not a total newbie, but probably close enough. I have tried to
find the answer to this question, but have been unsuccessful.
I'm testing out rsync over ssh using empty passphrases between 2
OpenBSD 3.5 boxes using rsync 2.5.7 (yes i know i should upgrade, but
can't because of BSD ports issues).
Everything seems to be working, but I'm very confused as to why it is

newbie Capistrano question
Hi,
My name is Paul Kristoff and I am rather new to rails. I am trying to
use Capistrano for the first time and am rather confused. My confusion
boils down to the :repository variable in the deploy.rb file. Is this
supposed to point to where your code is currently being stored? Here is
what leads to that question, I am working with an ISP that supports
rails. I originally had the

Rsync from NT to UNIX
You're set, unless you declined ssh in your cygwin installation (without
cygwin, you're not doing rsync from windoze). It's just like unix, in
that case. (Bonus clue: Under related commands for ssh, you'll find
ssh-keygen).
If you don't actually need to secure your content (you're not naked on the
internet, for instance), you can just let rsync use plain old rsh

Transferring file to local machine when SSHing into a foreign box
One can log into a remote shell via SSH, and one can use an FTP
application to log in via SFTP using the same credentials over SSH.
Why then, can one not initiate a file transfer from the remote host to
the local host when logged into a shell via SSH?
I know that I could use scp or rsync to move the files, but the
requires authenticating which is not something that I can always do
from the host.

But runs normally if started. On a rpi4 running an uptodate raspbian

Thanks.
